The World Health Assembly is currently holding in Geneva, Switzerland. The 70th World Health Assembly opened yesterday. Some 3,500 delegates from WHO’s 194 Member States – including a large proportion of the world’s health ministers – are attending the Health Assembly, which ends on 31 May. Veronika Skvortsova, Minister of Health of Russia , has been elected as the President of the 70th World Health Assembly. She is replacing Dr A.M. Al Saidi, Minister of Health of Oman , who was the President of the 69th World Health Assembly.
