I wake up everyday trying to imagine why we live in a blessed country like Nigeria with all our natural and human resources and still find ourselves 2000 years behind civilization.Sometimes I see us celebrate mediocrity and ask myself if it's a curse or just ignorance based on the underdevelopment we're being subjected to by our leaders or simply lack of education and awareness.

Most,if not all our leaders, travel to countries like US,Canada,Uk,China,Australia etc,to see how people created by the same God who created Nigerians, live in a society where regular power supply, portable water, good roads, hospitals etc are not just meant for the wealthy but for all citizens inspite of class and status;yet they can't replicate what they see in these things in Nigeria.

The rather send their kids to live, school and enjoy in countries built by visionary leaders and steal our common wealth to fund their kids extravagant life styles leaving us to wallow and die in penury. All we see is useless graduation pictures of their kids from prestigious universities while our Universities churn out half baked graduates who can hardly compete with their peers based on how substandardized our universities are.

We thank and worship our politicians for buillding substandard roads for us with our own money, even when the roads don't last for up to a year,no one holds them accountable. They chase us away from the same roads with their escorts and we see it as a normal thing. They build hospitals for us to die in and fly abroad for medicare.

We provide electricity for ourselves and still pay power holding company of Nigeria for their inability to provide power for us.Recently,we're now being charged for drilling our own boreholes in our homes, yet we don't see anything wrong with that.

My question is this: when is our dignity as citizens of Nigeria going to be restored? We've been in this continous rat race with no obvious clue of how to get this right for ages, yet all we do is suffer and smile and tell ourselves "it shall be well"!Are we waiting for the second comming of Christ before getting things right or for rapture to take place before we'll realize that this very generation might pass away and we'll still be seen as a 4th world country?

Nigerians,it's high time we realized that the people at the helm of affairs of this country, both past and present, are just for their selfish interest. We're been scammed repeatedly and our calmness is really been taken for stupidity.Let's wake up,shun tribalism, bigotry, sentiments and fight our common enemies who are none other than our selfish, greedy, non chalant, visionless and wicked leaders.

A country where youths can't fight for their future is on a collision course!
