don't bother shaving your baby's hair... my sister is currently doing her masters (jus to tell you how old she is), she is the only one in my family with baby curly hair cos hers was not shaved for one day until she was like 7 or 8years. same goes for most of my friends with curly hair today as they didn't have their hairs shaven when they were babies (found this out much later).

Do your baby a favour and let the hair be.

Na superstition o. It pains me to see babies adorable hair shaved at one. Oyinbos don't shave their babies hair. Muslims shave theirs on the 7th day abi na 8th day ( naming ceremony) and not bother to shave off again except if the baby is a boy.I will keep my baby's hair for as long as its comfy for him or her. i feel d reason for cutting d hair at one year old is cos thats the baby first hair, it came with blood, then d natural hair will grow evenly mostly for female then for d males at least 6MONTHS wen his skul is strong enough. i ve seen few ladies with baby hair, it doesnt look pleasant.

My Ist daughter is almost 11 years old, while my 2nd daughter is 8 years old and since I gave birth to them till date, their hair has not been cut. My mom told me then that the hair will fall off if I don't cut it, my nosy aunt in the US said the same thing but today they both have natural beautiful long hair that my 2nd daughter is even complaining that it is too thick to comb and I should cut it cos its too full. (No plans to use hair relaxer till further notice)

All in all follow your heart and do what you feel is right for your kids.

My parents also put pressure on me to cut my daughters hair. I kept asking them what's the rationale and since their explanation wasn't logical to me I refused.
