OKPANAM DECIDES THEY SHOULD NOT BE CALLED ASABA.
Today, in the capital city of Delta State, Okpanam took up placards to protest against the acknowledgment of Okpanam as Asaba. According to history, Okpanam had their land up to Ogbeilo of Asaba(were ogbeogonogo modern market is currently located), but as faith would have it, Asaba through the influence of Mariam babangida became the capital city of Delta State, and has since that time began their encroachment and has succeeded in taking the land belonging to Okpanam up to Interbau roundabout(presently Asaba shoprite), as if that wasn't enough, they began calling the remaining areas belonging to okpanam, "Okpanam road". As painful as it is, they began their protest this morning to put an end to the insanity.

asaba is a metropolitan city. Asaba territorial city extends beyond ibuzor. Is it not in Okpanam Road that they have police headquarters and Delta state house of assembly?

Do u know that lagos city and state are different places? Lagos city refers to only lagos mainland and lagos island. That was the capital city of nigeria. Then ikeja the capital of Lagos state was 32 kilometres from Lagos city. But today they are all one. Lagos is now a Mega city. A city-state.

The lagos called lagos city- lagos mainland and lagos island, which was the capital city of nigeria then was very far different from the lagos state you know. Then, Ikeja, the capital of Lagos state was a sleepy town 32 kilometres away. Just that lagos has developed into a Mega city. A city-state state.
Let's leave Lagos, let me give u instances.
Enugu state is different from Enugu city. In Enugu state, u have Enugu city and other towns like university town Nsukka, then Udi, and Agwu, just to mention a few.
Kaduna State is far different from kaduna city. In kaduna state, u have the beautiful kaduna city, zaria, kafanchan and other towns.
In Kano state, u have same. Kano city is just a small proportion of the state. They have so many other towns in Kano state apart from Kano city.
