The Nigerian Military and other security agencies are currently battling members of the Boko Haram terrorist group who are making a push for the Borno state capital- Maiduguri. According to Vigil360 reporter in Maiduguri, residents within the Giwa Barrack and Jidari Polo area are currently fleeing their homes into the city centre to avoid being caught in the cross fire. The terrorist group reportedly numbering about three hundred emerged at about 1630 hours throwing Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) and shooting sporadically. Details later
