NANS: Disintegration Is A Luxury We Can't Afford. by akolo321: 8:16pm On Jun 10, 2017
The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) under the stewardship of Comr. Aruna Kadiri, condemned in totality the recent threats issued by the Coalition of Northern Youths (CNY), ordering Igbos to vacate the region within 3 months.
Regrettably, the Northern Elders’ Forum (NEF), on Friday, June 09, expressed support to the call by the Coalition of Northern Youth Groups for Igbos to leave the region within the aforementioned period.
However, in case the above mentioned coalitions are drifting in the shackles of ignorance and misinformation, Nigeria as a populous nation in the continent of Africa was built on the foundation of unity, therefore, their unguarded decision cannot stand.
Like the senate rightly say, “Nigeria's Unity Is Not Negotiable”.NANS as a patriotic body with concern for national unity and progress can say with a loud voice that the declaration the so-called coalitions gave does not in any way represent the North, but rather their ungodly interests that may subject this nation to unrest which Nigerian students have resolved to curtail.
Additionally, NANS is also reminding all Nigerians, both home and abroad that tribal, regional and religion affiliation are agents of separation, regression to every progressing nation like ours, so, disintegration is a luxury we can't afford.
I commend the governor of Kaduna State, Mal. Nasiru Ahmad El-Rufai for his swift action to subdue and arrest tension that may await this county in effect to the declaration, which is uncalled for.
As President of Nigerian Students, I cannot emphasize more at this time than we must not only be resilient, united, determined and focused as a people to rebuff all moves for secession, but also have the will, desire, courage, and conviction to forge ahead with our plans for peaceful co-existence and socio-economic stability.
I hereby call on all Nigerians, most especially those at the helm of public affairs to rise up and stand firmly to defend one Nigeria. We will be failing if we do not do something that will reassure the people on the need for one, indivisible Nigeria.
NANS believe in the Nigeria Project and in the Nigerian People and I know we will overcome these trying times and rise above them to be better, stronger and more united than ever. We are greater together than apart.
Long Live The Federal Republic of Nigeria
Aruna Kadiri, NANS President

No, its not. Quota system is a system where reservation is made for unqualified people to fill positions while the qualified that are not influential will be left. That's Nigeria for you.

The misguided youth and the elders urging them on,who are living on borrowed time must be shamed by our collective resolve to stay as one.

The agitation by igbo though a legitimate right to Self determination, we must deliberately resolve the undercurrents leading to it. We are better and stronger together.
