I am very amused every time I hear the rumbling of the Biafran dreams by these people... utopianism at best.

The Igbo seems to have selective amnesia indeed. It is on record that the prime leaders of the Northern Nigeria in the person of Sir Ahmadu Bello and Tarawa Balewa were murdered by Igbo men. In fact the one who gruesomely murdered Bello was a boy he trained and raised..... Thus the saying " don't look at uche's face" because if you help uche he will surely betray you.

Not done the southwestern leader and Aare Ona kakanfo of Yorubaland Chief Ladoke Akintola was also gruesomely murdered by Igbo men at Ibadan...

Not done Festus Okotie Eboh of the Niger Delta region was gruesomely hacked...yes hacked to death by this same Igbo men.

Treacherously all limelight igbo political leaderslike the Great Zik, Dr. Okpara, Mbadiwe, Mbonu Ejike and Nwafor Orizu were all excluded from this cold blooded murders while Northern region, Niger Delta region and southwestern region had their prominent leaders hacked to death by a cluster of Igbo men in military uniform.
And as if to rub salt on the injury orizu nwafor handed over power to Aguiyi Ironsi .. another Igbo man! One would wonder how much is the Igbo population doing all these evils at the detriment of other far larger ethnic groups in Nigeria... Aguiyi Ironsi merely locked up these criminal Igbo men in jail for months without charging them for treasonous acts and making sure that they were punished... True it was that they were even boasting in the cells... These led to the coup that took away Ironsi...

If a band of Igbo soldiers could do treacherously deal with Nigeria as a whole.... One needs to understand the silence of the southwest .... the anger of the south south at attempts to involve them in any satanic biafranic agenda... If you also know the Northern Nigeria well... The murders of Balewa and Ahmadu Bello are still evergreen and fresh in their minds.

It is my humble submission that the Igbo are their own enemies and the war they also initiated which consumed them is still their handiwork... Thanks for reading this piece.

The coup plotters who truncated Nigeria's nascent democracy and brought about military rule costing Nigeria decades of underdevelopment and poverty..

Major Patrick Chukwuma Kaduna Nzeogwu, was a Nigerian military officer who played a leading role in the January 15, 1966 military coup, an event that derailed Nigeria's nascent democracy and introduced military rule to Nigeria

Emmanuel Arinze Ifeajuna (1935 – 25 September 1967) was a Nigerian army major and high jumper who played a principal role in the January 15, 1966 military coup, an event that derailed Nigeria's nascent democracy and introduced military rule to Nigeria.
An Igbo from Onitsha, he was a science graduate University College of Ibadan and became involved in politics, later joining the military.

Solape Ademulegun-Agbi
Thirty-eight years after, the ghost of the January 15, 1966 coup of the “five-majors” is yet to be exorcised.

The daughter of Brigadier-General Samuel Ademulegun, the then GOC Ist Division, Kaduna, has narrated how Nzeogwu made her and her siblings orphans during the ill-fated coup. Today, Mrs. Solape Ademulegun-Agbi, proprietress of Hillcroft Schools, may be a fully-grown woman. But the trauma of having both parents shot in her presence has left an indelible mark. Reacting to a story captioned, Return My Son’s Body, Nzeogwu’s Mother Begs Obasanjo, recently published in Saturday Sun, Ademulegun-Agbi said that Nzeogwu’s mother wanted her son to be treated as a hero, whereas he could actually pass as a villain.

But her sores were made the more painful when she recalls that Major Chukwuma Kaduna Nzeogwu was a welcome guest who always relished a meal of pounded yam any time he came calling at the Ademuleguns.

after the Hausa vs Yoruba clash at ife, only yorubas were arrested including an oba, they're still unjustly detained till today plus many other problems affecting the yorubas but you hardly see them agitate or discuss their problems rather they would be moving from one igbo thread to another spewing hatred over what is not their concern. a famous sage said that "an unexamined life is not worth living"

You killed the premier of western region.... Boy that's our full time business

Gripping details of how Sir Ahmadu Bello, the Sardauna of Sokoto and Premier of the Northern region was killed by mutinous soldiers led by the late Major Kaduna Chukwuma Nzeogwu on January 15, 1966 have been revealed in a series of dispatches by British diplomats and intelligence officers during the period.
Titled:British Secret Files on Nigeria’s First Bloody Coup, Path to Biafra, the details are contained in the current issue of TheNEWS magazine which is out today on the newsstand. It was written by Damola Awoyokun, an engineer and historian.

According to intelligence dispatches on the death of Ahmadu Bello, he was not in the main house but upstairs in the rear annex with his senior wife Habsatu; his second wife Goggon Kano, third wife Jabbo Birnin Kebbi and Sallama, a house retainer when Nzeogwu and his soldiers started breaking down doors asking for Sardauna.

”They (Sardauna and his wives) listened and rattled prayer beads in fear for an hour as Nzeogwu and his motivated mutineers booted down doors, pumped bullets into guards mounting resistance and shouted to others, “Ina Sardauna? Take us to the Sardauna.” It was dark, Sardauna and his wives went downstairs and into the courtyard connecting the annex and the main house. They were trying to escape.

”On finding them, Nzeogwu shot the Sardauna and his senior wife who was trying to protect him. He then blew a whistle which was the agreed signal for all soldiers to converge at the rallying point at the front gate for the final onslaught on their symbol of national decay.

”The rocket-launching party then began shelling the house. Boom! Boom! The ground shuddered like the cannon fire which the great Russian composer Pyotr Tchaikovsky laced into his 1812 overture. Nzeogwu was a lover of jazz and classical music. Their beauty heightened his sensitivity to the decay which Nigeria was. He even mentored Captain Theophilus Danjuma to become a classical connoisseur.

”With the huge flame before him overpowering the harmattan and the night with abundance of light and heat, Nzeogwu was satisfied his own unit’s assignment was a success. He felt like a single note from an oboe, hanging high up there unwavering, avid for glory, above pulses from bassoons and basset horns till a drag from a clarinet took over and sweetened the note into a phrase of such delight, such unfulfilled longing making the coup’s failure unlikely with every passing bar.

”Nzeogwu then left for the brigade headquarters to await news from other units confident as ever like that high oboe note from Mozart’s Serenade for the Winds in B Flat that the news would be good news

Which wounds are you referring to. We have fought a bitter civil war which ended with the ''no victor and no vanquished'' mantra. This war ended with a heavy toll on the Igbo side with up to 3,000,000 people dispatched to untimely death.
