South Africa defeated Nigeria at home yesterday.

Here are various reactions to the match.

Sports Minister denies that it ever sent a team to play the match. He says the evidence provided by South Africa is doctored. It challenges South Africa to produce "unequivocal evidence" and not merely claim it won the match.

Vanguard has supported Dalung's claim.

Femi Adesina claimed in fact that Nigeria won the match.

When Premium Times contacted Falana, he said that whilst Prima Facie there is no evidence that South Africa defeated Nigeria, if it did so, it was a gross violation of the rights of innocent Nigerians. He plans to go to International Human Rights Commission for getting this investigated.

Patrick has said it is an "exasperating farrago of distortions, misrepresentations & outright lies being broadcast by an unprincipled showman masquerading as a journalist". When the journalist tried to search for the meaning of Patrick's words, the computer crashed.

The minister of science and technology said that if truly Nigeria lost, it was probably due to "hacking of the computerized boots" that the this government provided to the players and asked for a rematch so that the players will wear normal boots.

Lai Mohammed when contacted said that this was a friendly match organized by APC government to boost the economy and provide jobs for the youths so it does not matter whether Nigeria emerged victorious or defeated.

He also said that all the goal attempts by Nigeria players count as goals in foreign countries, he then urged Nigerians to pray for Buhari and support this administration so that Mohammed Buhari will buy the technology installed in stadiums in foreign countries while coming back, something PDP couldn't do in the past 16 years.
