Port of Kleinhuningen, Switzerland is the major port in the country, Switzerland is connected to the sea via river Rhine and this port is located along the river. Its even more amazing because the river is even very far from Switzerland from where it connects the sea in Netherland, passing through the whole of Germany before getting to Switzerland. River Rhine is much more thiner and less deeper than IMO river but this river is a saving grace for Switzerland. Now we should ask ourselves why Switzerland is still as prosperous as any other European country despite her landlock status. River Rhine is the answer, an economic lifeline

Below are the pictures from the port and the map showing how Switzerland connects the sea via river Rhine.

Below shows the map of two rivers connecting abia/IMO state and afikpo in ebonyi state directly to the sea. Even Switzerland can make something out of river Rhine that is very far away from the ocean, this two accesses are child's play.

It amazes me when people say biafra is landlocked not knowing that igboland has upto four large seas that has few nurtical miles to atlantic ocean in oguta in imo state osemoto in oguta and ihiala in anambra azumiri in abia state a deep sea in arochukwu bordering akwa ibom ibaka sea port and another one in ebonyi state all close to atlantic ocean, it is very funny when thoe who do not know the geography of igboland saying biafra is landlocked

Include Orashi, Azumini, Otamiri and Niger pics to prove to Afonjas that we aren't landlocked

Ebonyi is too far, there are much closer Igbo community in Cross River and of course the famous Arochukwu if u want containers via Cross River.

On the Abia side, Opobo and Bonny are Igbo speaking comunity and they have access to the Sea.

We also have Onitsha and Abia river port options.

Igbo are far from landlock.

The North is landlock.

This is the exact point I wanted to make.
Thanks for this sensible post.
Of course, with a good relationship with their neighbors, they can have access to the sea.
They can continue to even use the ports in Lagos - as long as they maintain a level head and respect the Lagos people.
Same goes for the people of SS.

This trash can only come from an ewedu infested brain! Just listen to yourself, "they can even use the ports in Lagos as long as they maintain a level head and respect the Lagos people" To hell with Lagos & its ports. Lagos ports even need us more than we need it. Like we will use it for free abi? What about the billions we will pay for using it? Lol, the best of ewedu reasoning is still "dumbness" to us. FYI, Biafra will never use your ports because we will have options both within Biafra & outside. We will even use Doula in Cameroun if we must use a foriegn port than use Lagos. RUBBISH!!

You wish!!!!!

All I see from you Yorubas On Nairaland are bad wishes for Igbos and it really sad.

The damage you guys have done will hardly be fixed.

Don't worry about how Igbos will survive; they just will.
And I believe you and the North know full well that the Igbos will come out better and stronger. That's the reason for your sleepless nights on a matter that should ordinarily not concern you.

Jealousy at its height.

For those who dont know what land lock is
A landlocked state or landlocked country is a sovereign state entirely enclosed by land, or whose only coastlines lie on closed seas

You guys are very funny comparing yourselves with Switzerland. The only other country that will be similar to Biafra is Soweto. As Soweto is surrounded by South Africa, so also Biafra will be surrounded by Nigeria. This means that your developmental pace will be determined by Nigeria. Biafra will be one big prison. A refugee camp. You currency will be worthless as toilet paper. Recall Soweto during the apethied period. You will not be allowed to have a military force (army, airforce or Navy). You will only be allowed to have a police and Nigheria will dictate the kind of weppon you carry ( dane guns or okpor) you will need a trade agreement to go through our airspace. So if you think you can fly in and out as you like you are dead wrong. The Anambra oil fields are presently in conflict with the Kogi people. They will be siezed in favour of Kogi state. That of Imo will be ceded to Rivers their rightful owners. So much more to come.

oh!. So your breakup is depended on others following suit. Well think again. Niger Delta is going nowhere.
On your Biafra, the only resources you guys have is red mud sand. Some of you deluded fellows are thinking of importing raw materials through airlift and exporting same way. I ask, to be sold to who excatly? You guys think you can sell your poor quality goods to Nigeria after secession? Think again. Infact, where will you get the dollars from?

The poverty in post Biafra will be mind boggling. At present the 5 south east states are dependent on aid from Nigeria. They collect allocations of all types monthly. Without these allocations, none of these south east states is viable. They should be scrapped.
