There are feelers that erstwhile Super Eagles goal king, Victor Okechukwu Agali, may have gone bankrupt, following his resolve to sell his N150 million palatial home located at 5th Avenue, FESTAC Town, Lagos.

A close confidant to the former Hansa Rostock and Schalke 04 ace told SoccerStar that the lanky striker was financially broke and has been selling some of his priceless property, including cars and houses, to keep body and soul together.

According to him, the Delta-born ace has struck a deal with a renowned estate agent to sell the eye-popping mansion for nothing less than N100 million to anybody who is interested in buying it.

“Things have not been rosy for Agali lately,” he said in disbelief. “He is really going through hard times.

Unfortunately for him, all his friends have abandoned him just because he turned his back on them when things were going well for him while he was still playing for the national team and signing big contracts with top European clubs.

“He is now ready to sell his mansion at FESTAC Town for N100m to enable him start picking back the pieces of his life. Most of the materials used to build the house were bought from a European firm through hire purchase, so he wants to sell the house to raise money for the remaining payment as well as meeting up with other personal commitments that could cause him embarrassment.”

Agali who plies his trade with Xanthi FC of Greece had been recently arrested by the Dutch Police in Amsterdam for carrying two fake passports, but he has since been released after investigations proved him to be innocent of the offence he allegedly committed.
