The traditional ruler of Obi Orodo autonomous community in Mbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo State, Eze Samuel Agunwa Ohiri was on Sunday night abducted by unidentified gunmen. Daily Sun learnt that the gunmen arrived the palace of the traditional ruler in a black sport utility vehicle (SUV) at about 7.30pm, shot four persons dead including the father of the monarch, his cousin and two other women.

Eze Ohiri who was the chairman of the Mbaitoli LGA traditional rulers was allegedly shot on his leg before he was bundled into the boot of a waiting jeep and driven away to an unknown destination.
According to an eyewitness account, the traditional ruler just came back from a ceremony and was resting at his palace when the hoodlums stormed with their Ak47 rifles

Meanwhile, the inauguration of the state council of traditional rulers slated for yesterday morning at the multi-purpose Hall, Government House had to be postponed indefinitely following the ugly incident.
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP, Linus Nwaiwu told Daily Sun that he had not been officially briefed on the incident.
In another development, three armed men robbed a multi-million naira provision store at Rotibi street, Owerri yesterday and carted away undisclosed amount of money at about 11 am.
