In an interview with Joy TV, Ablakwa Ghanaian lawmaker, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has advised the Nigerian police to desist from publicising all information about notorious kidnapper, Evans.

Ablakwa said the Inspector General of Police is making it difficult for Ghana police to trace other members of Evans syndicate if everything Evans said is being put on television for all to see.

Ablakwa said he “really would have wished that the Nigerian IGP did not put all the information as publicly as he did.”

According to him he hoped that Nigerian IGP shared these information with Ghana earlier other than through a television interview which would have led to more arrest of the members of his kidnap syndicate residing in Ghana.

He also urged Ghanaian security agencies to move fast to seal loopholes that allowed Evans to move stealthily in and out of Ghana.

He said: “How we manage information is very critical.

“It is important that with adequate tracking, the loopholes are quickly identified and closed so that other criminals, especially terrorists, would not exploit that and cause maximum damage.

This is hilarious, Ghanaian lawmakers cautioning Nigeria on how a hardened criminal should be handled.

Every reason to agree with the police official statement on pressure from some quarters to let the criminal offence the hook.

Actually, we know where the pressure is coming from.

He said: “It is true. He has mentioned some very prominent businessmen from the southeast as those who provided information on people he kidnapped. He claimed that they shared from the ransoms he collected.

“Evans claimed that most of his accomplices were based in Europe and that they were into drug business. The information he provided is being investigated. You do not expect the police to go and arrest people just like that.
