Boycotting election is just a tool used to press home for something within a system. The essence of boycott is to call the attention of international and local observers. World over, there has never been a 100% compliance. In choosing boycott as tool, one is aware of the advantages and disadvantages.

The advantage is primarily to tell the world that you are not part of a given system. If 60% is achieved cedibility question comes up....to the extent that the govt did not come in through a reasonable number of lawful votes, makes the regime illegitimate.

Another major point, you cannot be pushing for an independent nation and at the same time casting vote for a regime that will swear to uphold the constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria. The constitution itself is a fraud. Tomorrow when you raise issues, you will be reminded that it was your vote that brought in the government into power.

Now opposition to election boycott will argue that wrong characters may assume elective positions, they argue that your vote would have brought in credible candidates. That the wrong characters coming in may work against your interests.

Balancing the side of the coin, if a good candidate wins the election and swears by the fraudulent constitution, he automatically becomes a demon, not out of volition, but by compulsion, courtesy the constitution he swore to uphold.

Are there dangers for boycott? Yes. The dangers are interim and peripheral. Wrong people will assume leadership, come up with wrong policies, but it will not last long .The ideological pressure will weigh them down thereby returning to status quo, 'the agitation'.

But remember it will always be on record that Biafrans or IPOB boycotted election. In the long run it will still be the basis for external pressure to conduct a referendum.

But the truth be told, does your vote count in the first place? If we all agree that our votes don't count, lets remain with the ideological agenda of the leader. Whether they like it or not, low turn out in elections cast credibility toga on the entire process. Lets not waste our time nor be disturbed. IPOB is focused.

Boycott as unwise as it seems, this call for election boycott might be all we need to set the ball rolling.
It will come with chains of after-events.
Voting is a right exercised by the citizens of a nation through which their leaders and representatives are elected into positions of power.

If we are agitating for Biafra restoration and at the same time exercising franchise as Nigerians, what are we indirectly portraying?

INDECISION!

Rather than choosing to see only the possible negative effect the boycott may have on Ndi Igbo, there by been pessimistic. Why not we also see the possible positive effect same boycott will have on the Nigeria status of the Ndi Igbo.
Marthin Luther King jnr asked the blacks to avoid using public provided transportation but to trek to their respective work places. It wasn't easy, but they obeyed for nine months they kept doing as demanded to ensure that their collective struggle for emancipation became a success.
Today it is a success story which is why am using it as a referral. That act of unison in decision and purpose, gave rise to civil societies and rights today.

My people rather than criticising the person of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu on his decision that the elections be boycotted, what we all should be doing and thinking now is how to make that decision to boycott a huge success story.

Martin Luther King towed the Ghandi civil disobedience style when he asked for Montgomery bus boycott in protest of racial segregation and many ills against the blacks.

Then I can assure you, that in the hearts of many blacks, his idea to use trekking as a way of protest was not just senseless but would simply mean self harm. It was a 13 months journey of civil disobedience, funny enough that self harm as thought by many compelled the supreme court to declare segregation against blacks as unconstitutional.
This also gave rise to a lot of other success story brought by the Ghandi style of civil disobedience.

Today Mahatma Ghandi, Martin Luther King jnr, Malcom, Nyerere,Sankara,Mandela,Lumumba and I know of a truth that our own Nazi Nnamdi Kanu has cued in the league of these great men who has positively carried the burdens of their people in different ways but ensured that positive change was delivered even at their own detriment and incarceration.
Let's cue behind Mazi Nnamdi Kanu in support of his ideas no matter his crazy it may seem to our own understanding.
Our problem as a people is the "over sabi" attitude. Let us for once damn the fears of what if he is wrong? Let us close our eyes and go with one resolve to boycott this election and see how it turns out. Besides those we have been electing in the past his have they impacted positively to our collective good? No way! They are just after their own selfish aggrandizement.

When Mahatma Ghandi of india towed same step that seemed stupid as he asked his people boycott British salt, it seem unachievable.
He took it upon himself to stage a peaceful march against the injustices of the British against his people, especially the salt monopoly. It was senseless to do but in the end he was "sensefull" and successful.

A brother suggested and i buy his suggestion. That those who sit with our ever listening leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu to relay to him the crucial nature of encouraging all well meaning Biafrans and her supporters to go out there in mass and register and get there PVC's no matter hiw hard the INEC official make the process to be.
This is so because as we embark on this voyage of boycott, we need a huge number of registered voters. That way we can effectively boycott the election when a number of those that are registered and eligible voters refuse to vote.
A situation where 10 thousand people registered and are eligible to vote, instead a thousand or two thousand voted, it will automatically ensure that the 2/3rd stipulated in the electoral law of registered voters is marred. That way the boycott will have more ripple effect than when 4 thousand registered and 2 thousand gets to vote thereby giving the Zoo polithiefcians the 2/3rd of the registered voters.

If there is massive registration as well as massive boycott, then victory of the boycott is sure as day.

I call on us all, to please go and endure the harsh sun, the rain the mosquitoes or ants bite to guarantee your freedom and Biafra restoration.
If we have a massive registration out come, I can tell you of a truth, the message of the boycott will be resounding.
It will have a ripple effect and question of the Nigerian claim of indivisibility!

You jokers always deceiving your people with UN Charter for Self Determination should learn to cite Article 6 of the same UN Chrter to your people

“Any attempt aimed at the partial or total disruption of the national unity and territorial integrity of a country is incompatible with the purposes and principles of the Charter of the United Nations”.

If you abstain from the election, we shall vote on your behalf and install youe leaders for you the same way Russia installed leaders of South Ossetia, Crimea, Abkhazia and Chenchya.

NOTHING WILL HAPPEN.

If only the greatest Igbo man was futuristic and visionary enough, he would have supported the insertion of secession clause in the constitution, rather than conniving and lobbying to prevent it. So sad that his descendants are fighting tooth and nail in 2017 to utilise what they grandfathers prevented.
