So was this guy killed because he walked on the same path as the Fulani herdsmen who were probably going to same market?

How these guys are left to run amoc is mind boggling.

Another civil war loading, the hausas don't know that things are changing , this time is not 1960 where by the world powers decide who to support and sell weapon to , China, India , Pakistan , Iran , brasil, north Korea all of them have stock piles of weapons looking for customers , just look at the weapons one militant group has , personally I don't like violence but the north should mind themselves

Uchechuckwu Madu U can lie for Biafra. I am currently in Lafia. I can proudly say.. Lafia is d only city wia d Igbo's and Hausa's are living peacefully together.
That was a case of armed robbery, majority killed were Hausa's.
Here is an Igbo man shop in Doma road, where Majority are Hausa's.

There has always been a case of one insecurity or the other in every administration.
Nigerians have regretted giving this man an opportunity to lead them.

Well 4 d record, I'm in Lafia, and I live very close to specialist hospital,& as a matter of fact my cousin was there this morning to greet her fellow marketers, if not for the so call Sallah celebration, chances are she will be in that same car with other cause they all sell stuff together in that village market, they do go there from lafia once in a week,

The bottom line is, people get Rob on those road that leads to those small small villages a lot most especially in the night.... The securities on those roads are really poor.

Every body got robbed, and things get out of hands, sadly some died without discrimination,Plus most of the people that died are Hausas.

So pls stop promoting violence, and get you facts straight @OP
Have you ever think of reporting it to d local authories?

nextstep:
We need more details than assumptions about the assailants and the reason for the manslaughter. These are dangerous times, but to jump to conclusions is more dangerous. We should also be careful not to embellish stories with phrases like "they asked all the Igbos to move to one side", unless they were actually true.

*EDIT* for instance, Sheflex4real shows a reasonable context and counterpoint to explain what might have happened...

Yeah, it just sad, last week Tuesday along Nasarawa Egon road, people that went there to sell their good were stop by some robber and were asked to lie down in the middle of the road,
A big lorry was approaching and the pple in the middle were instructed not to get up, and if they do they will get shot.

Those that did got shot and those that don't got smashed by the lorry because the driver did not stop, it's funny how no one talk about them, was it because they are Hausas?

Don't get me wrong, I'm Yoruba, and I'm not trying to take side.

I'm just saying let's keep things real.

A clear case of armed robbery; of course the narrator of the story had to add the all too common twist that the herdsmen robbers separated the Igbos ftom the rest and shot them. If that twist isnt added in the story in this season, how can the story be sensational?

For ages, armed herdsmen living in forest settlements do come out to highways to rob and then they fall back into the forest. In 2009, I was almost robbed by these same herdsmen when they dashed out of the bush in the Benin bypass. My dad has also been robbed by same herdsmen along the Oleh-Ogwashiukwu highway somewhere close to Kwale. For whatever reason, security operatives have never been able to checkmate their activities. But thank God for 2015 election results, their activities now finally get the much deserved publicity....

They the are aware, they all are, but it funny how it keep reoccurring, even my own cousin got robbed a week to Ramadan, they were all asked to lie down by the road side as usual and robbed of their valuables.

During the day, things seems to be in place but at night anything goes

We just tell my cousin that once its 4pm she should pack her loads and start heading home for safety.

If you think the marauding herdsmen started their robbery or attacks of farmers or farming communities in 2015, then you are just uninformed. The herdsmen have been marauding and causing pains for farmers especially in the middle belt for ages without it getting any single publicity or reportage. It started receiving publicity only post-2015 because at the time, it seemed like a very suitable political argument since a fulani man became president.

Enough of the pointless politicising of the age long problem. If it still pains you so much that your preferred candidate lost the 2015 elections, try and prepare better campaign strategies for 2019 and quit these watery theories.

Saying that it is worse is actually debatable... Their nefarious activities only now gets the much needed publicity and reportage unlike before; and this is because with a fulani man being president, it has become a fashionable political jingle to sing that herdsmen (a.k.a brothers of the president) are marauding BECAUSE their brother is president. With this political endorsement, every single herdsmen attack post-2015 election gets full publicity, even attacks that may not be herdmen are now conveniently tagged herdsmen attack. If I have a problem with my brother, all I need do is go attack him in his farm and the story instantly hits frontpages as herdmen attack. Last month, 2 warring tribes in Benue clashed, one group invaded the other community slaughtering people all over the place; of course, it was reported as herdmen attack.

Of course the herdsmen attack is real, but it must be acknowledged that it certainly did not start today as our political theorists now choose to paint it. If you doubt, ask any friend of yours who's from Benue, Plateau, Nassarawa etc to tell you what they've endured through the years. And of course, when there is a cancer and it is not treated, it festers (a.k.a gets worse).
