A busman's holiday home! Couple buy dilapidated Stagecoach bus for £1,500 and spend £10,000 turning it into a luxury campervan with three double beds, an oven and a LOG FIRE

An inventive couple bought a dilapidated Stagecoach bus and converted into a luxury family campervan complete with an oven and a log fire.
Tom Grantham, 29, and his partner Kayley Barnes, 30, bought the vehicle for £1,200 in 2011 while they were shopping for a more conventional motor home.
They soon discovered the 23-year-old bus was actually the number 51 bus, which had travelled from Grimsby to Louth past their family home every day.
It has been used to travel across the continent to festivals and family holidays to destinations such as Belgium and France but now - much to the disappointment of their three children - it could be yours after they decided to sell it on eBay, with the highest bid currently just over £9,000.

The couple set about completely refitting the Stagecoach single-decker at a cost of approximately £10,000 over a six-year period.
Mr Grantham, who works as a horse dentist, said: 'Kayley and I were looking for a motor home and saw the bus and thought why not.
'It has been perfect for family holidays.'
It took Mr Grantham nine months to make the bus roadworthy while Ms Barnes designed the interior, with three double beds, an oven, a gas log fire, a toilet and shower but kept some of the original features such as the steering wheel, driver's seat, dashboard and some signs.

Bedrooms for the three children have been squeezed practically into this room, stacked at different heights to maximise the space

The kitchen and dining area, in the midst of what would have been the bus' seating area also made from wood, is smoothly finished and well illuminated

Henry, Logan and Poppy-Mae enjoy going to places on the bus, which has previously taken them to Disneyland Paris

The cost of the container is enough to erect blocks for 2 bedroom flat. I tried it in 2013, it is not cheaper. Nigerians are good at inflating prices whenever they know you need something even if that stuff was useless to them.
