Please do not speak against God's anointed. We are all human and prone to some irregularities. I was one of those ppl that spoke ill of Pastor Chris until one night, as I was just sitting in my living room, watching him preach on air. Suddenly, I heard a voice telling me to pray for my son. The urge was so strong that I had to go into his room where he was fast asleep, laid my hand on his forehead and prayed for him, even without knowing why I did so. * Mind u, I wasnt a spirikoko, in fact I wasn't even going to any church then.

In the afternoon of the next day, he developed a very high temperature that led to serious Convulsion. I almost lost him, but God was ahead of d devil's plan. I then knew why the spirit of God asked me to pray for him and thank God I did.

I've asked God to forgive me for speaking against the Man of God, and since then, I've been a member of Christ Embassy and a worker too.

God has really been good to me and it has been from glory to glory.

@ d OP, I understand your plight. I sometimes feel the same way, especially the money taxing aspect, but I believe that the church is an imperfect body working towards the perfection of the saints. I've also realised that the more you give, the more God provides. I've never gone broke even with the much giving. Just make sure it comes from ur heart. Keep up with your faith and let's keep flourishing.

Jesus Christ was never a christian, Jesus Christ never attended any church, Jesus Christ never preaches prosperity but repentance, Jesus Christ never found prayed in is own name but the will of the Father who sent him. Jesus Christ wasn't sure of the last hour. Moses, Abraham, John the Baptist are not Christian by faith. Moses, Abraham, John the Baptist never prayed in Jesus name. Jesus Christ never see any versions of theso bibles be it KJV NIV RSV ESV ,Amplify, GAY BIBLE ,QUEEN JAMES, SATANIC DABBING BIBLE.

Jesus Christ never preaches money, but wow to Pharisees who collects money and live the weighters matter,

Those that clap for Jesus Christ are losers
Those that go to listen to new generation pastor's are the ORIGINAL MUGUS of our time Easy to catch. Very easy to collect catch just sweety word, just shout Alleluya, Pastor are not Jesus or God ,so still repent that is what a man approved of god almighty preaches.

: Shun The Love Of Money _pastor Chris by Marchman: 11:59pm On Oct 07, 2015
This is really surprising coming from Pastor Chris cos ive not a seen a more money loving and grabbing church than Christ Embassy which has commercialised every aspect of the gospel. Everything in the church is paid for. Nothing is given free. If that is not love for money I wonder what is.

Then there is a giving which is greater than Joagbaje'' socalled principle. it is giving in love with no expectations of what you get in return. Christ exemplified this by giving his life. That is what the Good Samaritans did too. In all of Christ message that is what he taught. Today it is different with the socalled prosperity gospel. Avery selfish and self serving religion that is all about you and your prosperity.

And Mr. Agbaje, i know of many people in your church who have followed your principle and are very broke because of it. very broke.

So much for a christian who posted this:

I have not posted in a while but if you have followed my previous posts, you would know that I used to attend Christ Embassy Church, even though I had reservations about some of their teachings. I finally left the church, phew!
I will use this thread to explain why I quit the church and why I may never attend another Pentecostal/Charismatic church which now appears to me like a sole proprietorship, with the General Overseer or lead pastor as the owner.

1. Excessive premium on Giving money

In Christ Embassy the number one thing they lay emphasis on is giving money. The church can use any tactic to get money from members, including manipulation, threats and the likes. While there is nothing wrong with giving money or time, I believe everything should be balanced and moderate. I think that was why St Paul said we should not give out of target, or threat but as we decide in our heart. In CE, there is nothing like moderation or balance when it comes to giving. They tend to believe literally that everything answers to money. You don’t have a job, give and sow seed. You are infertile, give and sow seed. Your father is sick, give and sow seed. Every message ends with a charge to give money. They collect tithes, offerings, partnerships (money), seeds (more money), first fruits (your whole income in January) and plethora of others.

You are also charged to give for Pastor Chris’s birthday and for all the other pastors. And for projects and the likes too.

Before I started worshipping with the Church, I read the story of the account clerk at the Sheraton Hotel who stole from his employers to give to the church. As a member, I could relate with the man. The Church is obsessed with money. They do not mind how or where you get it. If you want to rise or be noticed or win awards, just give big money. It is this obsession with money that led it to start collecting gate fees from members for its New Year Service at the LoveWorld Convocation Arena in Lagos, which ironically was built by the offerings of the members charged to get in. A lot of people I know personally had gone broke, had their businesses ruined, or fallen out with a loved one because of this teaching by the church.

In summary, at CE, money is everything- EVERYTHING.

Congrats bro...

Me I Don go back to my celestial church jeje and I also worship at random pentecostal churches anytime I feel like because my eyes are opened and I'm wiser now.

I joined celestial church in 1983 and left in 1992 and returned this year after 24long years.

I have worshiped with Christ embassy,Latter rain, redeem and many pentecostal churches and I can say most of not all nah psyching. ...

They will psyche your life out of you and you will start believing you are a millionaire when your life wahala is still eating you up.

I was a christembassy member for about 10years and a strong member of the PCF called haven...

I had an accident in 2001 and not even a tin of beverage was bought for me and to think I belong to the givers group and I also remembered in 2009 when I was robbed and after telling my members how financially tight I was, they still did not even care but that very Sunday service they asked me to redeem my financial pledge and I was like se e gbadun!

I left that business center called church and never to return...I'm OK with the way I worship my God in C.C.C...I have seen it all...pentecostal ko...penterascal ni.

I believe in giving but when I see that the church cares less if you die as long as you give them money then there is something wrong.

Pastor Chris should work on the church crazy affinity for money....imagine the rhapsody the church shares...do you know that the members are actually buying this and pastor Chris makes 100% profit printing them in his printing press and the say it's free.

The truth is that the Church is becoming worldly and the world is becoming church. No wonder the bible said that judgement will start from the alter. One thing we should all bear in mind is that we serve the living God and no human including Pastors is perfect. Let us not go to church because of Pastors because the truth is that such thing is found in all church these days, it still boil down to individual relationship with God. Leaving Christ Embassy might not be the best option because you might be surprise you will find something worse in the next church you might get engaged with. I encourage you develop a deeper self relationship with God so that no matter where you find yourself, you take the one that are true and throw others in a water basket. God help us all in this Heavenly Race. Amen

2. Sin Means Nothing at CE
Their teaching regarding to sin is so liberal. They rarely even mention it. The belief is that a Christian cannot sin, but only do wrong. The implicit message here is that ‘if you are saved, you are always saved’. You are a son of God and nothing you do or do not do can change the fact. In other words, heaven is sure. I am really not versed in the Bible to argue with this but what I know is that, this teaching is dangerous. It is like giving one a blank cheque or immunity from sin. What you have is a morally decadent church, starting from the top. Sexual sins are so rampant. You must have read the allegations of Pst Anita against her husband, that he was screwing some top female pastors. Such allegations are common in the church and I believe Pst Anita was very naïve in not understanding what was happening under her nose for decades!

It is not just PSt Chris that has been accused of fornication; his younger brother Rev Ken was also accused of impregnating a member of the South African Church when he pastored it. My friend who was in the church at that time (he also has left) told me that in all practical terms, Rev Ken had a harem in SA, with all manners of girls, mainly young university girls, living in his house. His wife was leading the church at Isolo, Lagos at that time. Apart of the Oyakhilome brothers, sin (or wrong-doing since a Christian cannot sin, according to their belief) is very common among the pastors and laity. Including me. I did a lot of things I’m not proud of as a leader, including fornication. But what struck me is that I was going numb, conscienceless in the church. No message speaks to my struggles to stay upright and not to sin. They do not even talk about such things. The focus of the messages is often on how to be successful, perhaps so you can give more money!

In summary, at CE, sin means nothing!

This point is what some idiotic believers are preaching and it is an heresy from the pits of hell

Salvation is 3 steps: Repentance from sin, deliverance from sin, and victory over sin, meaning a whole new nature entirely, Jesus Christ didn't make all this sacrifice and die for you to continue in the same sin he is trying to save you from, it does not make an iota sense, the bible also emphasized the facts that he that he that sins is of the devil!!!
and that no sinner shall see the kingdom of God a lots of times (I say again a lots of times)

The devil's biggest character is sin, it is sin that gives him a foothold in your life, and what makes God who he is, is Love and holiness, so you cant go and meet him with sin in your life its just nt possible cos with dat sin in ur life you ar already identified wit some one else its as simple as that (simple as ABC!!!!)

it is 100% possible to live a righteous life through faith in christ and the holy spirit,

And mind you christianity is not a religion but a way of life,

and if Christianity does not stop you from stealing, corruption, drinking, doing drugs, fornication, and all other vices that could destroy your life then what is the essence of the whole religion?

so sin and God can never go together, your body cant be the temple of God with sin in your life

most people preaching that message knows the truth, they are just scared of the prospect of being accountable to a superior being.

which is no different from being an atheist

while atheist live in denial

The so called grace preachers live in delusions

and for this point i 100% support your decision to leave the church, pray to God to direct you on another church to attend, also try and get to know , i mean try and have a personal relationship with him, and your life will never remain the same

You will almost tell your children, Jesus and apostles quoted from the bible. I am sorry for them.

I swear the trait of Stupidity is deeply ingrained in your DNA. You should as well say "the theory of relativity" is not a part of science. After all, science as a subject was already been taught in schools before it's discovery.

I should be the one asking you. What do you really define the Bible to be? So an ignorant slowpoke like you wants to turn history on it's head with your false claims against the Bible. I swear the Devil is really putting so many dirty perverse thoughts into the minds of men.

When Jesus in Matthew 21:42-43:

⁴² Jesus said to them, "Haven't you ever read what the scriptures say?
'The Stone which the builders
rejected as worthless
turned out to be the most
important of all.
This was done by the Lord;
what a wonderful sight it is!'
⁴³ " And so I tell you, "added Jesus, " the Kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people who will produce the proper fruits."

Even the Jews of those days understood that Jesus was quoting from the scriptures which you know has being compiled into a complete book called the Holy Bible. I could quote several instances where Jesus and the apostles quoted from the scriptures.
I can't dignify a stupid ignorant individual like you with anymore reply again.

Take up the Bible and read before getting involved in discourse such as this.

I used to think I was the only one with this experience from that social club. For the one saying op should deal with his poverty, I feel it should be you dealing with the poverty of your spirit and conscience. Someone said nobody forced you to give, what do you call a systematic, coercive and manipulative psychological veiled threat used in making you sow several seeds every single service day, partner with virtually every thing the church does, even the ones not happening in your local branch or has nothing whatsoever to do with you. Yes you are not forced, you are coerced and manipulated. Surprisingly is the fact that the apologetic exploitees are so poor and wretched in financial capacity, wearing suits to mask status and follow up, mind you I agree with op and yes I am well to do, believe me that club nearly milked me to death. They even have people outside watching the kind of car you drive to church, you drive a good car to church, you are a sure target, believe me they will employed every tactic to draw you close and milk you. I am not disgrunted , but it was a first hand experience. Lol at the one who said....CHRIST EMBASSY CHRISTIANITY, THAT NA CHRISTIANITY SEF?

3. "Who deserves more respect, parents or religious leaders? Even if our parents aren't against us worshipping God. Even if they have led us in the right path?"

1 there are laid down ways. Total abstinence to anything sin, you must be humble, gentle, meek, not easily provoked and all good behaivour.

2 not really but needs the holy spirit to have a deep understanding

3 the bible says "children obey your parents in the Lord that you may live long". Both are good especially when the advise according to the bible

Look at it this way: why do non-moslems worry about moslem females who cover their heads and shoulders but don't care about their daughters who walk around half-naked? You reap what you sow. One thing I know is that having a good relationship with Christ is primary and church is secondary. Yes church is good and we need it cos God admonishes us not to forsake the assembly of the brethren. No church is perfect and each church definitely has certain practices that one may feel uncomfortable with but one will just overlook such and face the God you have come to serve in the church. I have never been comfortable with Christ embassy cos they seem to be lost in their own world but I won't criticize them cos no church is perfect.
