You have the right to do anything on your account and even if you are delighted in the whole update, I guess you can let the writer know in your reply "Wow, this whole update is great" "I super love the whole update" instead of quoting the whole update.
Even when a mention is too long self, I just acknowledge the moniker who mentioned me in my reply so they would know I got their mention and appreciated it so as not to disturb others.
