In my opinion, the cost of a very complete engine for Honda Crosstour 2010 is within the 850k range.

OEM oil filter is about N2,500 to N3,000.

The labour is his labour.

The bill seems very fair to me as far as prices of parts is concerned.

Please free this company handling this repairs.

Even if you have water Ingress into the engine it doesn't necessarily mean the engine is completely gone.

That diagnosis seems suspect.

Possibly talk to Lejuen although a Landrover specialist his skill set and knowledge base are comprehensive enough to be transferred. But mostly I find his integrity to be a rare find.

This bill is very very fair.95% fair. The engine of a cross tour is different from a corolla. That engine when recently priced cost 850k. The engineer has been fair enough not to put in logistics, gate pass fee and other miscellaneous. Kudos to the engineer. He knows what he is doing. We recently purchased a Lexus is350 2006 engine (2GR-FSE) for 1.8million. engine wasn't available in Nigeria

i have been using it and my car has been fine, how much is the original? and what effect does the fake have on my car? or what is the difference?

Can cause a restriction to oil flow or even totally block oil passage which would quickly crash your engine due to oil starvation. Besides. Most Toyota branded filter sold out there are FAKE. No one would do R&grin and then sell an OEM filter for 20cents.

You better be careful don't come here and start crying about how your engine got locked. Haven't you seen an oil filter get burst while in use on a car

P.S. NEVER EVER START A CAR AFTER FLOODING!
Many cars will be sold out at a give away price, more will go to spare parts sellers, to the mechanic simply tell the oga to give you the car simple.

Don't be deceived. You are using the right oil specified by Honda Motor Corporation for your engine. There are states in and outside USA that are hotter and harsher than Nigeria in weather. Eg Middle East, Australia et al. They use 5W20 as specified. Why did they use their car and sell it off to you in a good state?
Honda motor corporation has tested their piece of engineering in different weather settings and then specified the best suitable oil for your car

Don't be deceived. Synthetic fluids are formulated to take care of cold and hot temp regions appropriately. Also, the most important time of an engine running is few seconds immediately during crank and start ups. Free flowing synthetic oil flows to lubricate the small components at cold start up to minimize premature engine wear and tear and prolong your engine life while in optimal operating temperature, the same oil being lighter, provides lesser friction, quickly takes excessive heat away from engine components and also ensures higher fuel economy.

Don't mind ignorant folks bro.

He is very right, 20W50 is just a perfect oil for Nigerian weather , all those 0W10 and 5W10 are for extremely cold weather where oil of wrong viscosity rating could freeze up in the engine. Go online and read about various oil viscosity and recommended weather.
I have been on original MOBIL XHP 20W50 for close to 4 years now on a German car and my engine still runs in perfect condition u hardly hear the engine running until the cooling fan comes on.
Just make sure u buy the oil at a standard Mobil station cause our brothers have imitation in the market too to avoid those stories that touches

You're damn wrong. Can you do a compression test o. Your engine? You'd be really surprised how low you are on compression.

Besides, you putting this poison in a German car shows you deserve no car at all. German cars I know are very selective on oils.

That's decent for a 2010 Honda Crosstour.

If he can't afford it, he should tow the car to the nearest church and sow it as a seed.

why not sow it when it was still alive?

What does the "w" in a grade of motor oil stand for?

The "w" in motor oil stands for winter. The first number in the oil classification refers to a cold weather viscosity. The lower this number is, the less viscous your oil will be at low temperatures. For example, a 5W- motor oil will flow better at lower temperatures than a 15W- motor oil. The higher number, following the “w” refers to hot weather viscosity, or how fluid your oil is at hot temperatures. The higher the number, the thicker the oil at a specified temperature.

Now common sense should tell you we have different temperature from the manufacture country hence d difference in oil which will still be compactible..... The oil manufactured in Nigeria can take care of the cold start.... Hence no need of imported oil....common sense
Bros, you don go Google and pour am down ko?
