The Lagos State commissioner of police Mr, Fatai Owoseni visited the scene of the Apapa riot this evening. Yours truly was there to capture on the spot assessment and give you eyewitness account of what transpired.

A trailer driver was shot to death close to Diamond bank on Creek road by a trigger happy mobile policeman attached to diamond bank Creek road branch.
According to eye witness reports, the driver just finished eating a meal of bread and beans and decided to go charge his phone inside his friend's truck when he was accosted by the mobile policeman to move the truck from that position. All efforts to explain to the policeman that the vehicle isn't his and he can't drive the vehicle as he isn't acquainted with handling the vehicle and he can only go to call his friend who is the driver fell on deaf ears. The mopol opened fire and shot the driver dead. The truck drivers seeing what happened mobilised and attempted to lynch the mopol which was resisted by his colleagues.
Diamond bank was razed by the mob. The mopol attempted to escape by firing sporadically which failed but he was harboured by his colleagues attached to Sterling bank creek road which was also razed.

Normalcy was later restored. The commissioner of Police is a fine gentleman who spoke intelligently to calm frayed nerves. The DPO Apapa port was also given commendation by the truck drivers for his tireless efforts to ensure normalcy in an already tense situation which drivers are going through at Apapa.

God bless Mr Fatai Owoseni and Apapa port DPO for your efforts. These are fine officers that should lead the Nigerian Police Force. He wasn't happy about the killing of the truck driver, neither was he happy about the resultant carnage and destruction. He promised that the killer MOPOL will be brought to justice. He also promised to look into the cases of police extortion the drivers suffer within the port environs.
MORE PICS OF RAZED STERLING BANK.

Until the citizens are allowed to own and carry gun, this irresponsible police brutality will not stop.

Some citizens are worse than that brutal policeman.

The truck wasn't packed in front of the bank, I have the pictures of the truck in which the driver was killed and also the truck of the driver that was killed. If you know how thick the congestion is in Apapa, you will even know that some rules don't and cannot apply here.

I am guessing the killer policeman is not Yoruba, or a different ethnic group from the driver.

A breakdown in communication and lack of respect for lives of those you see as inferior leads to such deadly end

Photo of the truck the driver was killed in. He isn't the driver of the truck. His own truck was packed a few meters away.

The pictures of the deceased driver's truck. The truck that carries the white Maerskline reefer container on the left of the picture. Some truck drivers were saying the wife of the dead driver just gave birth.

Apart from the banks that was razed, some other companies too were vandalized. CMA-CGM SDV building and BUA office were vandalized. The commissioner of police spoke kindly and intelligently to manage the situation properly. He spoke to the drivers in Yoruba and addressed the press in English.
The situation led to the closure of all banks in Apapa today.

The commissioner of Police and the DPO are both graduates, that makes the difference between a rank and file pry school leaver and a graduate.

Nigeria need to address the issues bordering the recruitment of rank and files.

We have millions of graduate out there seeking for job.
