MTN Nigeria has continued with the overhauling of its data plans. It would be recalled that Tellforceblog reported that MTN increased its Data Bundle which it tagged “MTN Revamp Data Plan”.
Data Revamp Update: MTN Introduces 5 GB Data plans and Updates 1.5 GB and 3.5 GB
Though the revamping only took place in just about three plans – 50MB for ₦100 and 150MB for ₦200 (both valid for 24 hours) which were before now 30MB and 150MB respectively. Then the re-introduction of 150MB for ₦300, valid for 7 days.

The revamping appears to continue as MTN introduces a new data plan - 5GB for ₦3,500 valid for 30 days, as well as revamping the below data bundles, effective July 19, 2017.

500MB - Weekly Data bundle
1.5GB - Monthly Data bundle
3.5GB - Monthly Data bundle

The so revamping process this time around seems to be a bit tricky. For weekly subscription which was 750MB before July 19, 2017 was a one-entity subscription. But now, MTN has decided to split the same bundle into two – 500MB + 250MB. Same goes to the other two offers.
Below is a table showing the summary of the changes. Upon successful activation of the revamped data bundles, subscribers will have access to:

According to MTN, existing subscribers with any of the above revamped bundles active will be able to use the data bonus any time of the day.

Note : MTN customers who are on XtraSpecial tariff plan will still enjoy their 50% on purchase of N2000 data bundle.
To check MTN Data bundle simply dial *131*4# or Send “2” to “131”.

What is milking there? Companies are within their rights to changes prices, products and services. Besides mobile data in Nigeria is competitive with even most parts of the developed world in terms of price per Gb. Where we still lag behind is speed, but that because our networks have too many people on them. Because we have fewer base stations, more people and zero landlines, we have more congestion
