Little have been heard from Enyimba of Aba Fc 2003 and 2004 heroes. Before 2003, No nigerian clubside had won the CAF Champions League Trophy. Legendary clubsides like Enugu Rangers, Julius Berger And Shooting Stars had tried but failed to win the trophy until Enyimba Fc of Aba bankrolled by the then sport loving governor of Abia state Orji uzor Kalu break the jinx in 2003 and took a step further to retaining the trophy in 2004.

Splintnetwork reviewed the players and their performances after they left the aba millionaires and where they currently are.


Joetex Asamoah Frienpong

Frienpong move to Enyinba from El Kanemi after he became the top scorer in the nigeria league. He was instrumental when Enyimba won the CAF champions league in 2003 and 2004 scoring a total of 14goals. He has since played for Al-Nasr, CS Sfaxien, and BSC Young Boys. He is now based in Minna where he is managing his football academy.



Victor Ezeji
The striker who represented Dolphin FC, Club Africa and Rangers was very instrumental with his goals to Help the Aba Millionaire to lift the trophy in 2003 and 2004. His calmness and leadership appearance was second to none. Ezeji is now into the business of insuring Nigeria league players.





Armed Garba
In 1997,Garba was reportedly offered a four-year contract by Borussia Dotmound but Nigeria Football Association didn't allow the transfer. A very important figure in the team, the 37-year old is
currently one of the coaches of Kano pillars

Micheal Ochie
Very Vital core of the team. Scored some important goals especially in the semi finals. After the team's triumph, Micheal move to malta league but indiscipline on his part made his club terminate his contract within 2month of signing. He later move to india. where he died in the hospital in 2014

Yusuf Mohamed
The right back was a main stay in that team that won the trophy in 2003 and 2004 before moving to to Sudanes giants Al-Hilal. Now 34 and obviously and retired

Muiri Ogunbuiyi
The right back was a main stay in that team that won the trophy in 2003 and 2004 before moving to to Sudanes giants Al-Hilal. Now 34 and obviously and retired

Oyekachi Okonkwo

Known as Tico,he is a very gifted midfielder who draw comparison with his style of play.After helping enyimba to the trophy, he moved to Orlando Pirate, and subsequently played for FC Zurick and Al kharitiyath. Little have been heard from Tico after he signed for Mpumalanga Black Aces in 2013

Uga Okpara
Now 34 , the long serving defender was very influential to the team. He Formed a very solid defensive partnership with Obinna nwaneri, Ajibade, Seyi Ogunsanya in 2015, he left Enyimba Fc and join East Bengal of Indian. He represented Nigeria beach soccer team in FIFA beach soccer world World cup in 2005 and 2007. The 34-year-old has spent most of his playing career lately in indian league and little have been heard from him


Ajibade Omolade
Ajibade was a mainstay of that team. Though there were some worried about his crossing and composure, he always know how to win over fans. The now 31 year old left the team for a trial at FC Koln. He later signed for Gombe United in 2012/2013. Little have been heard from him

Romanus Orjinta
Romanus was the captain of the team before he transfered to lillestron sk. He represented the Super Eagles but on the New year's eve of 2014, Orjinta was found dead in his house at age 33
