Ones with very solid foundation that befits the soil structure can last that long. Here nobody cares elsewhere they check on old buildings and if they are no longer strong, they collapse them and rebuild before it endangers

naijaboiy:

But there are buildings of more than 100 years that still stand.

What's your point please?

Sorry but he is been truthful most of those buildings are old and if nothing is done more will collapse. Buildings are not suppose to last forever, some of those buildings are 50 years and above and who know the type of foundation they had.
50 years you say

This is a lofty idea to an average Nigerian who makes rent a means of livelihood.

It is not about the age of the building but the materials used to build it and the purpose it was built for. A bungalow built without room for expansion would collapse if more floors are added onto it without proper care taken to strengthen the building. The carrying capacity too would cause the fall if let's say they add more load to a concrete roof when it was not designed to carry such heavy load. Have you not heard of buildings under construction collapsing in Nigeria lately? Would you say they went back in time to build it? There are fortresses and other places built hundreds of years ago and they still stand. Quality and proper plan. Those are needed. That a house is old doesn't mean it is weak.

So is it better to k.ill people and still lose the building in the end than to do things right? Better to place a few tenants and grow but Nigerians are quite greedy they love quick and easay money hence they don't care if lives are lost as long as they can fill their pockets while it lasts.

Check the previous posts of the foolish idiotic goat you replied and see that the bigoted demon shares a lot in common with you, including tribe and probably same state.

After that, then go over this your senseless, stupìd, foolish, animalistic and idiotic comment, and see that the joke is one you.

Well, you sounded like you were kind of leaning towards giving excuses for the reason why those greedy or illiterate land lord's kill people regularly with substandard houses. It's all good no hard feelings cool
