Sorry but he is been truthful most of those buildings are old and if nothing is done more will collapse. Buildings are not suppose to last forever, some of those buildings are 50 years and above and who know the type of foundation they had.

there are buildings standing after a thousand years. There is a building in my current town that has been standing for 200 years. The problem with Nigeria is the lack of standards. There is no oversight, no approval of plans, no building codes, no law and order. The place is a mess.

The Lagos State Govt. should tell us if the building has permit or not. They always claim that lack of permit is the cause of building collapse so they should tell us whether this was approved by them or not.
