I expected NMA (Nigeria Medical Association), to hv staged a nationwide protest by now, calling on Mr President to return home and receive better treatment from our local hospitals and clinics.
The continued London stay of Mr President on the account of illness is a slap on their faces. Let them demand for an immediate return of Mr president sick body down to Nigeria now.
Our gbogborishe and ori is strong enough to put Mr President back to health.
If a president can't trust his own country's health system, who will?

The NMA has little say in the matter.
The constitutional procedure for removing the president is well known and vested primarily on his cabinet.
Buhari is a sectional leader and his cabinet is weak and pliable. None will move to remove him and because he is a sectional leader, his constituency wants to keep him there because "it is their turn to produce the president". Never mind what is right for Nigeria.

Moreover, do you think the political elite wish to change the situation on ground ?
The Northern power bloc does not want Osibanjo confirmed as president because it will introduce a new element into the 2019 elections and nullify the cabal and its structures.
The Yoruba power block already have access to the presidency through Osibanjo, so why should they upset the apple cart ?
The Eastern and SS blocs do not gain any advantage whether Buhari or Osibanjo occupies Aso Rock.
The PDP factions do not want Tinubu to get any closer to legitimate power which will happen if Osibanjo is made President.
Saraki will prefer to indefinitely hold the threat of Buhari's impeachment over the cabal as leverage.

So really, the status quo favors all the parties.

In any case, which NMA are you calling on ? The same NMA whose members have not been paid for 22 months in Osun state for instance ?
Buhari will die in office or resume even if incapacitated. That is the dividend of democracy we 'enjoy' as Nigerians.

The problem with some of these bodies is the high level of politicization and unregulated romance with the people in power, which whittle down the weight of their voice and stand. Ordinarily, NMA can act in ways and manner that will affect our medical sector positively

This is the simple truth

Although Osibanjo can also test his powers and reshuffle the cabinet,

Osibanjo has no powers so there is nothing to test.
Did you notice that after the recent boko haram abductions where he called a meeting of service chiefs and ordered a return to the frontlines Burutai was missing ?
Assumming he reshuffles the cabinet, who will be the petroleum minister ? Buhari has taken both the presidency and petroleum office with him on sick leave/vacation.
The last appointment of ministers was concluded without assignment of portfolio. Does that tell you something ?
Nigeria government is based in London. Don't be deceived.

Thank you for your lucid perspective of current political intrigues in the country.
In all these, Buhari may be the biggest loser. While other political actors are trying to caress power, President Buhari is trying to caress death, with his continuous stay in office.

If the game plan is to keep him in office whether by hook or crook till 2019, which I believe it is, Buhari cannot hide from the myriads of problems facing the country which regrettably he does not even have the answers to.
Buhari presently is like a new wife whose parents bragged to their inlaws about her cooking skills in the kitchen. Sadly, the inlaws got to find out that their new wife could not only cook, but could not even identify a box of matches to make fire in the kitchen.

The coming days will determine whether Osinbajo is presidential, or just a mechanic who is called in to fix the problem after a reckless drive by the driver.....

God bless Nigeria, or whatever our current name is...

How is it a slap on their faces? A patient can decide to get treated in any hospital he likes, for your information, either local or foreign
