Don't Declare Niger Delta Republic - Edwin Clark Begs Militants by aminulive: 9:19am On Aug 05, 2017 |
Chairman of the Pan Niger Delta Forum(PANDEF), Chief Edwin Kaigbodo Clark has appealed to the Niger Delta militants to withdraw from declaring 'Niger Delta republic' on October 1st. Clark, in a recent interview, urged the militants to also desist from blowing up pipeline installations in the region. He said that PANDEF was satisfied with the Federal government, adding that it meant well for the region. In his words; “Rome was not built in a day; the Acting President was honest, straightforward and forthright in his discussion with us and I do not see the need for war.” He warned that any militant group that re-ignites hostilities was on its own and will not have the support of the Niger Delta people. He also denied that the group gave the FG a November 1 ultimatum, explaining that it only urged it to set up a dialogue team to discuss with PANDEF, or the body would pull out of further meetings with it.Clark's statements are coming after Friday's meeting with the Federal government over promises made to develop the region. http://politicsngr.com/2017/08/05/dont-declare-niger-delta-republic-edwin-clark-begs-militants/

.... It's rather unfortunate that everyone seem afraid of the northern Hausa /fulani oligarchy. What they are afraid is what I can't fathom. If only the north had enormous oil resources, Nigeria would have long been obliterated from the global map but we are here begging to stay with them. Well, I see Nigeria disintegrating except a miracle happens and all these bad leadership is gone 31 Likes 2 Shares |

We are still where we are cos some people are reaping the fruits of this unprofitable union called Nigeria. The earlier we choose to do the right thing and call for an enclave that we Favour all of us (and not for the few elites); the better. If we choose not to do anything now; OUR children will still agitate for either restructuring or separation. 15 Likes 1 Share |

Edwin Clark using the Niger Delta struggle to enhance his status since time immemorial... Instead of these boys in the creeks to kick away these old scums that are begging for a slice of what is totally theirs from their oppressors, they are busy listening to an Edwin that will use their struggle to collect some amounts at Aso every now and then. 8 Likes 1 Share |

SMH...Protecting His personal interest...dayz are fast fleeing when people of the ND respected this man.... He like so many other elder statesmen have eaten sour grapes and set the future of others yet unborn on the edge.... He has not used his influence to better the lot of his people to the maximum and yet he is saying this...50 years down the line when Oil is no longer moving the world I wonder what will be the fate of Niger Deltans.... The time to act is now....They are developing other regions massively with ND 'oyel' money when the chicken finally comes to roost, it would be too late 11 Likes |
