This thread is open to all well meaning Nairalanders in the House. Please, suggest the best practical ways to restructure Nigeria.

My hereby submit mine as thus:

Let envisage a one Nigeria where equity, fairness and justice will be the order of the day. A structured Nigeria where the federating units will contribute 5% of their respective resources to the center. A Nigeria where there are no second class citizens.

A Nigeria where the best will be selected to take the lead irrespective of the region of origin. A Nigeria that will be the envy of the world due to the judicious management of her capital and human resources.

A Nigeria devoid of indigenisation policy....where residency will be preferred to indigenous sentiments. A Nigeria where all ethnic nationalities will not see each other differently. A Nigeria where all religions will embrace peace and seek divinity without infringement on the rights of worship of others.

A Nigeria will we all be proud to call our own and a legacy left for our unborn generation.

What are the federating units?

U have only enumerated ur dreams and desire for Nigeria not restructuring strategies

Nigeria should practice con federation and and the six of them most have there full independence in fact Nigeria should just be like a general name for this federating States only

Like it would be using one currency and disame foreign policy and all that expect from that they six regions should just be like a separate country

the restructuring I understand is to sit down and rewrite the constitution with the context of modern day challenges. sit down that would involve the whole nation and every bodies interest not some kind of amendment. a total overhaul of the 1999 constitution and the creation of a brand new constitution
