Kano have been thrown into great bewilderment as a 45-year-old man, Balarabe Huruna of Hausawa Sabon Titi quarters, Kano municipal killed himself by knowingly jumping into a family well.

The father of 10 and a small trader reportedly excused his family and moved to jump into the family well at the centre of the compound. According to Vanguard, the deceased was treated of malaria parasite and he was recovering fast before the unimaginable happened. The family said they have no backup reason to why he took such action, knowing well he is not suffering from mental illness.

Notwithstanding, the first son of the deceased, Balarabe Mahmud, said the incident took place at about 2pm on Saturday when the family was commanded to excuse him. Mahmud said, “we left our home in strict compliance with his directives to allow my ailing father have complete rest only to return home and discovered he was missing.

“we immediately raised a search team only for us to notice strange movement in the Well as we promptly invited men of the Fire service department to the rescue”

Deep searching of the service operation which lasted for hours led to finding his deceased body inside the well.

Attesting to the event that took place, Director Fore Service in Kano, Mohammad Rilwan disclosed that they arrived the scene around 3pm following an emergency call received. He said the deceased was “rescued dead and delivered to the family after a formal request.”

Reaching to the Police Relations Officer, Kano Command, DSP Magaji Musa Majia, he said the event that took place has not been rightly reported to the police.

Obviously, he wasn't recovering, contrary to their observation.

Malaria is one of the most deadly diseases in the world, let's join hands and roll back malaria.

Good he didn't complicate matters by sending his family away.
