OSSY PRESTIGE BASKING IN SELF-DECEIT!

Experience has proved over time that not every report or news item is worth responding to.

One of such reports is the one on page 28 of today's The Nation newspaper captioned '500 Aba PDP Women Defect To APGA'.

From this sponsored false report, it is very clear that the member representing Aba-North/South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives; Mr Ossy Prestige of moribund All Progressives Grand Alliance , has unfortunately condescended to the lowest rung on the avoidable ladder of illusion and self-deceit.

This piece of trash that was published today had been rumoured about two weeks ago.

Though PDP in Abia State did not consider it necessary paying attention to it as the Party knows very well the characteristic antic of Mr Prestige, what transpired was, to all intents and purposes, a different scenario from what was reported today.

A woman named Madam Peace Uwalaka had invited some women from different local government areas of the state on a common platform they use which they call Amalgamated Abia Women for a meeting at Amokwe-Item Hall at No 104 St Michael's Road, Aba.

The meeting which had started about 12 noon was being rounded off about 3pm when suddenly Mr Prestige broke into the Hall.

According to an attendee, Mr Prestige told the women that he was merely passing by when he noticed their presence and decided to come and 'greet them'.

He then embarked on his usual past time of hate speech and character assassination against PDP.

It was at that point that the venue became rancorous and majority of the women successfully insisted that Mr Prestige must walk out of the Hall.

Probably to save his face from the open disgrace he had contaminated himself with, Mr Prestige, instead of expressing remorse for his unguarded action, resorted to sponsoring a blatant false media report.

PDP Women in Aba did not decamp from the Party when Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, in collaboration with the APC federal government, was hell-bent on destroying the Party, is it now that the Party had successfully scaled all the obstacles and mines laid against it that they would ever imagine defecting and worst still to a Party that is precariously struggling to maintain its only grip on only one state in the whole of Nigeria?

Aba is one place where if any one executes any laudable project, like Governor Ikpeazu is currently doing, it would be the talk of the town.

The people of Aba are so enlightened and conversant with modern trend of development that Mr Prestige should better realize that it would merely amount to living under delusion thinking he could deceive them by spinning out fallacies.

It is an open secret that Mr Prestige has not attracted any project to Aba since he went to the House of Representatives.

Even when he invited the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt Hon Dogara, to Aba on the false pretence that Mr Speaker was coming to commission some completed projects he had attracted from the Federal Government, to the embarrassment of all who were present, there was no project, whatsoever, to commission.

PDP in Abia State wishes to advise Mr Prestige to start arranging his files, if ever he has any, to bid a final bye to the House of Representatives.

His missrepresentation is the worst misfortune that had ever befallen the good people of Aba, the Great Enyimba City.

To put it mildly, it is very difficult to distinguish the quality of his representation from the one Aba constituents were subjected to when one Nnanna was also imposed on them.

Instead of wasting his cheaply-gotten money on spurious press statements, he should be wise enough to save it for the rainy day that is almost lurking in the next bend.

In addition, the women resolved that they would have nothing to do again with Madam Peace Uwalaka and her so-called Amalgamated Abia Women.
