Ofcourse like other naija leaders he was bad, but the thing is name one leader better than him ?

I have been begging for the same answer but shamefully nobody will provide an answer. They will rather base their argument on nothing.

^^Muritala Mohammed, Mohammadu Buhari, Tafawa Balewa

Though they were still useless but none committed genocide against his own country and NO Nigerian president has ever spent $16bn on a project without the grasses being cut. None of them had his attorney General killed without a solution

They told us in 2007 that the power projects would be completed soon Now 3 years after still nothing.

Abeggi OBJ is the worse worse than Abacha sef

lets put sentiments aside, are we certain that OBJ deliberately ordered for a whole village to be leveled or is it just hearsay. Please enlighten me.  From what i understand he precisely ordered an army general that law and ordered should be restored in a place where hoodlums clashed with police and unfortunately  innocent lives were disposed.  Didn't we just witness the reenactment of the same script in Bauchi where police officers extra judiciously murdered folks, should we also blame OBJ for that as well or the trigger happy law enforcers within our society who fails to apply a brake in these situations.

@dayo OBJ is the only military leader to hand over to a democratically elected govt, hell he's also the only civilian president to do same. Obj is being alleged to have looted massively but he paid off our debts, increased allocation to the ND, brought back a hitherto non existent middle class(before Obj if you were not rich that meant you were virtually in poverty), more ?

We can also ask how are we sure Saddam ordered the killing of Kurds, or how are we sure Charles Taylor order the killing of his people, Or we can ask How are we sure Hitler ordered the killing of Jews or How are we sure Milosevic ordered the Killing of Bosnians.

Cant we?

Which of these positives outweigh Genocide at Odi and Zaki Biam?Political Killings and $16bn vamoosed into the thin air.

You said he paid debt, tell me any other president who sold oil at over $100 consistently for over 6 years.

@dayo, If every thing obj achieved is down to the price of oil then IBB during the gulf war should have made Nigeria dubai.
dayo obj didn't sell oil at over $100 for 6 years o ! shocked
@ikeyman, do you think if OBJ was adamant on his 3rd term bid that he wouldn't be ruling today ? That 3rd term process was in itself somewhat democratic.

@dayo, If every thing obj achieved is down to the price of oil then IBB during the gulf war should have made Nigeria dubai.

How long did IBB sell oil for high prices? Gulf war was done in less than 6 months
War in middle east made sure Oil prices went high between 2001 and 2007 when OBJ was in Power especially when US attacked Iraq in 2003 and the friction before also with the issue with Iran and Chavez also MEND activity ensured that It stayed high

@ikeyman, do you think if OBJ was adamant on his 3rd term bid that he wouldn't be ruling today ? That 3rd term process was in itself somewhat democratic.

What more could he have done when the House defeated the plan after OBJ spent billions bribing people all over organising conventions in all geo Political zones to move the motion for constitution amendment.

Still no comment on the Genocide at Odi and Zaki Biam? Also No comment about the Politically motivated killings including that of the attorney General? Or how do you exonnerate OBJ

yar Adull has spent almost 3 yrs, can you compare the number of politically motivated Killings in OBJ first 3 years to Yar Adua in the same Nigeria. This kinda supports that OBJ was complicit in all of these

The question is "Is fmr Pres. Obasanjo really bad"
My answer is yes. No need comparing him wit any other leader simply put the man is a terrible, wicked, heartless, corrupt and foolish man.
For a man who came out frm prison to be offered d presidency, he had d oportunity to be our mandela, havin sacked all d political elements in d army cld hav gone ahead conduct a credible election in 2003 allow a candidate of d people emerge, then he leaves partisan politics and bcom a statesman whom every contestant will go to and receive blessings instead he wanted to perpetuate himself in power.
Corruption took a new dimension under his watch everyone was encouraged to be corupt as long as u don't go against him, all his failures is what we are reapin today, he failed to fix d refineries, the power sector was destroyed under his watch d prob of d nipp is d failure of due proces as FG u don't just go spending states monies wutout their approvals the niger delta was not as militant as it became after his tenure what hapened to d 285m dolls dat comunication companies paid to get their licences that was meant to tackle power nd infrastructural chalenges in d country because of his stubones students used 7yrs runnin 5yr prog under his watch.
Pls Obj shld neva b nominated or even considad as d best president ever in dis country because he is a tyrannical leader and witout compassion for his fellow brothers (Nigerians) and dis is a man who was sleepin wit his sons wife and saw nothin wrong wit dat oh my God som pple cld even think dat he is our best leader eva God forbid!!!
