You are very correct but these same oils that dried up in Toyotas do not drop even a bit in BMW e46 with much more mileage.

but that's the truth. Discovered it in 2012. It's 5w30 mineral oil. It is not synthetic.

This means 5w-30 by Toyota is not synthetic. Only 0w-20 is.
