erico2k2: I wonder how your wife will cope with people like you. You can never see anything good in whatever policy government introduce. And if government don't do such, it is people like you that will still criticize them that they are crawling. May God save us from people of your kind in our society. |

Which useless emission test? Always looking for new ways to rob the populace. If they are serious they should start with danfos and molue. They are the major polluters in Lagos. An average private car owner will keep his vehicle in good shape with all necessary papers. We all know that our problem is commercial drivers then why do we keep making unnecessary laws targeted at law abiding private car owners? |

We have policy makers who always just go out to copy what they see elsewhere and dump them on us without analysing the peculiarity of our situation. If we have had failed policies in the past, our first question should be: "what make them failed"?. After which we then ask: "How have we fixed the identified loophole?". The new system we are bringing in, are they immunized against what make the last system failed?. It's not enough to just introduce a system, feasibility study of such system ought to be analyzed first. By the way those behind introduction of the innovations are usually interested in what is in for them rather than how to improve the system. Personal gains are what drives most policies in Nigeria and the reasons many fail. Road worthiness measures that doesn't consider socio-political and economic peculiarity of our life as a people will fail before it ever take over. |

sooperrescue: Anytime Lagos state government goes to the media to say something all of you believe them. Lasg commissioners and directors are bunch of liars. I have registered 3 vehicles since they started the new fee for roadworthiness, none of those vehicles goes through inspection and the vehicle registration is done mile 12 office the only thing that change is the fee. Ministry of agriculture is running A daily advert on the radio regarding stray dogs, the commissioner issued a statement giving us numbers to call when we come across stray dogs, when we called we are told to kill the dog by ourself. We even called the commissioner, for more than 7 weeks now, nothing will be done. We even twitted lasg no response. What this people are interested is how to generate money they have no interest of the masses. 2 Likes 1 Share |

mascot87:1st and formost waht is the sense in bringing my wife into the picture I am a testimony to the practice I just preached, people like you are the reason why Nigeria is growing backward by the day,Have you stopped to think for o nce these people in power dont know what they are doing? they are enacting laws to benefit thier selfish interest you are here posting crap, why dont you ask me why I wrote what I did so we can all make sense of it.These so called rulers come to the UK monthly, they see how it goes on here, let me tell you something new Emission is your exhaust system, this is highly dependent on your cat converter and quality of fuel. Did the lagos state Enact any law to check the quality of fuel poor motorist use? Did they make public the Emission levels threshold? Now that center is going to test your car suspensions. What has the govt done to make sure your N110K brand new shock you bought two weeks ago is not going to fail due to huge Pot road on public road you drive on and for which you are taxed heavily in the name of vehicle licencing? Finally how has the lagos state govt improve the road worthiness of its road to compensate the road worthiness of vehicles that ply? These are all positive criticism,if you dont ask tough question you get milked in London, if a pothole damage my tyre or shock and I have proof ie take pic and get diagnosis from a certified mechanic, I can sue the government and they will pay. The lagos state want to 1 charge me to use their centers 2 charge me when I fail even though it was part of their fault 3 Enforce repairs to what is deemed to be their standard which is not made public and Im sure its thier friends who will do the repairs. When the roads are fixed then the have good cause to enforce this.Thy should start with public carriage vehicles in the first instance. 2 Likes 1 Share |

erico2k2: Valid You're correct on all levels ...well except one. You see when you read people writing such things like the other fellow did emphasis on bringing your wife into an issue to make a point. You note two things. 1. He's a typical nothing valid to say kind of person (God knows alot of them abound here) so resorts to insults as a way out 2. APC stalwart so definitely you'll achieve more talking to a brick wall. Every senseless thing done by party affiliates is right in their eyes. For them thinking is not an option...it's not even a possibility. What to do? Well you create two responses 1. Reply him in his own language & drag him along with everyone related to him he mentioned your wife? Bring his mother in kinda dragging. Show no mercy. 2. Second response you now state your points like you did here devoid of the first part where you were negotiating with him about involving your wife. The reasonable few would understand. Trust me. 2 Likes |

I hope they will inspect the Danfo buses on Lagos roads too. Not only private users because I see that this whole exercise is just for private car owners. The danfo drivers are immune. 1 Like |

The best thing i do after receiving strange reply is check their previous comments on NL, u will get the real picture and just move on. Too many people here can't reason, they don't ask questions, they don't have a reasonable answer, neither do they have any meaningful contributions or idea of real happening.. .. They are typically dead man walking |

What you guys are not aware is that the police are involved. The biometric central motor registry will also be done at the centre along with the tinted permit which is free. The guy that got his roadworthy cert in mile 12 has a fake certificate because you are supposed to take your vehicle to the center. It is no longer obtained by proxy. I have been priviledged to inspect cars there and there was one that we did belonging to a top gun in the insurance industry. His front tyres were T speed Rating while the rear was V. His braking system was poor and the handbrake was not effective, below the approved limit. The car was a 2015 model and the car failed the test. The emission test has its minimum limit and if you fail, you have 30 days to return after putting it right at no cost. The police at the center will verify your chassis and engine number and in a way, your car will be secured and the IT section at force hqts will now have the data of your vehicle and it is going to be protected nationwide, that is they cannot steal the var in Lagos and reregister it in Kaduna. The bcmr will also give you a temporary registration with the National identity card scheme. I used to register a car with roadworthy cert while the car is still in the port. That is cortuption and those crying against the scheme are comfortable with the corrupt system. We have to move forward and very soon, the police will be equipped with rfid scanners and if you are in Lagos and you dont have a bcmr card, with fake insurance, you will be booked.
