EFCC To Begin Repatriation Of $200billion Dubai Stash, Receives Looters' List by Nagisa: 5:41am On Sep 01, 2017
The government of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as part of its bilateral partnership with Nigeria has reportedly begun providing the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) with a list of Nigerians with loot stashed in the middle eastern country.

According to the Nigerian Senate, over $200 billion is hidden in Dubai. The EFCC has already began sifting through the list which includes high profile politicians, bankers, oil executives and other politically exposed persons.

The EFCC says it is already monitoring the movements of 22 such individuals who spend most of their time in Dubai.

The Nation reports an EFCC source disclosed that the list may eventually be released to the public after investigations are concluded.

“In line with its Beneficial Ownership laws, we have already a database of Nigerians with assets in the United Arab Emirates, including properties of some high-profile Nigerians under investigation.

“We are already studying the database in line with our ongoing investigation and profiling. We have a long list of some politically exposed persons and businessmen under probe.

“The signing of the agreements between Nigeria and the UAE by President Muhammadu Buhari last week has opened a robust vista which will hasten our identification and attachment of the suspicious assets.

“It is time to set out for work. You will recall that over N1.34 trillion was stolen by public officers in seven years. We will trace some of these funds and the assets acquired with them in UAE.”

Responding to a question, the source added: “We will not release the list now but already we have initiated action on some suspects.

“Actually, there is no hiding place for any looter from Nigeria in UAE again. In May 2016 at the Anti-corruption Summit in London, the UAE joined the league of 29 nations which will share where lists of beneficial owners.“The UAE has also strengthened its anti-money laundering (‘AML’) regulations. Therefore, the environment is conducive now to track the suspects on our radar.
“The Jebel Ali Free Zone Authority (JAFZA) also operates a commercial register where you can easily identify companies andinvestors in UAE

This is a welcome development. But how sure that this won't take another ten years ?

According to Nigerian Senate, Are some Senate members not part of the criminal activities ?

Please We Needs Action and not the common talk since 1909.

Happy Sallah !

Enough of this recovered loot news Abeg!
All we hear is Billions upon Billions being recovered from Nigerians yet no one is in jail and the economy is still in shambles.

A government that is founded on the foundations of lies and deceit, not knowing when to stop the lies and propaganda game and come clean will definitely crumble one day.

If I may ask, where is Yakubu and his millions of dollars recovered.Where are the ones recovered in buildings, flats and shops stashed by people.
No one is jailed and the money disappears and re-looted as nothing is heard after the initial gra gra by Efcc.

Nigeria is a circus!

Nonsense, do this people know what is $200Billion dollars, that is about last 5 years earning from oil at average price of $50 and output of 2 millions barrels daily. so no work was done no salary paid some people stole everything, commoooon, am honestly tired of seeing such figures.

Do you know that till today not a kobo was directly linked to Diezani Madueke but some conjectures, she even challenged them to publish any document that said all the property or monies recovered are hers

Till today no single conviction of high profile politician, even the single one they are celebrating has been reversed by appeal court ( that of ngilari) mainly due to lack of water tight case, all the efcc does is media trial and mudslinging without enough evidence

$200 billion is over 76 trillion Naira how is that even possible to steal the rate at which ignorance is rampant in society is alarming. Is like as if they have given Nigerians something to be busy with for sallah since they are on holiday.
