The news of the death of Ofoma, a Nigerian who was tortured to death by the South Africa police was confirmed by The Nigerian community in South Africa on Wednesday, saying it occurred at Springs town, near Johannesburg. Confirming the death of Ofoma, his family members say after he was arrested, he was taken to a police station where he was tortured severely till he passed out and struggled to breath, and later died after he was rushed to a hospital.

It was gathered that Ofoma, a native of Obosi in Idemili North Local Government of Anambra State, had been living and doing his business in South Africa for over 10 years. When Diaspora Reporters contacted the deceased friend, Charles Ibemere a footballer who lives in Springs Town, he said the Late Ofoma was his good friend and that he is the only son of his family.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian Government has summoned the South Africa envoy over the brutal killings of her citizens.

Abike Dabiri-Erewa, special assistant to the president on foreign affairs and diaspora, revealed a total 116 Nigerians have been killed in South Africa through extra-judicial means in the last two years.

Our govt has demonstrated to d whole world dat they don't care about their citizens and that's why other countries slaughter them without fear.

For crying out loud, even if ds man is a drug pusher as alleged.

South Africa police don't hv right to kill him bcoz they aren't one of those countries dat carry capital punishment for drug pushers.

May God comfort his family and love ones R.I.P.
