ykalhaji: Who told you that Mr Eazi colonize anywhere in Ghana? He is only saying how he has benefitted from going to Ghana to study and also to do music. The guy himself has been humble and truthful to say the truth: that Ghana-originated sounds is what most contemporary Nigerian musicians are playing in the last 5-6 years, especially after the emergence of the Azonto and fast tempo highlife beats. The current sound (being referred to now) is called ''Alqaeeda'' and it has its dance steps as well. As usual, Nigerians would have hijacked the style and claim to be original owners if Mr Eazi had not been candid and bold to say that the style is originally from Ghana and Nigerian musicians are only copying and using it. The list of Nigerian musicians who have shot to fame because of this super beat is endless...Runtown, PSquare, Timaya, Dbanj, Tekno, Mr Eazi, Davido, Reekado Banks, Flavour, etc. What is happening now is similar to what happened in the 1950-early 1907s when Ghana music dominated the airwaves and Nigerians (including Fela) had to travel to Ghana to learn highlife and Afrobeat (but today, as usual, the story is being changed to say that Fela created Afrobeat) Nigeria is only taking advantage of our population, In terms of originality and creativity in music, Ghana is far ahead of Nigeria! |

Runtown debuted twice on billboard even before wizkid, so during that period was he in anyway close to the floor wizkid walked on as at the time he debuted ? Read my comment again, MMr Eazi is the rave of the moment, Runtown is still a local champion. |
