Foremost Nigeria Civil Society group, Civil Liberties Organization (CLO), has described the speech that President Muhammadu Buhari gave at the United Nations headquarters in New york as hollow and hypocritical.

According to the Executive Director, Comrade Ibuchukwu Ezike, the United Nations assembly is a very big opportunity for leaders to market their countries but instead of doing that Buhari was talking about issues that were of no relevant to Nigeria.

According to him, the other world leaders like United States, Turkey, Israel used the forum to promote their countries.

He said Buhari was talking about oppression in Myanmar while his government is doing exactly the same in Nigeria

On the return of stolen funds from Nigeria by politicians, he said no country would return such money based on the fact that Buhari said so at the United Nations assembly, adding that there are processes for that.

"I want to say that President Buhari's speech at the U N headquarters in New York was a complete loss to Nigeria. His pontifications were very hollow and hypocritical because we are now in a global village. The oppression that he talked about is also happening in Nigeria.
