Gerrard is a square peg who doesn't fill into most of the round holes you have in a football team. The best you can make of him is playing behind the CF and even in that position he is barely above average. But he is English and moreso a scouser, so to pool fans, he is the next best thing since canned beer

Fifa, Pfa, and Uefa don't see Gerrard in the same light as you sauron.

Liverpool's failure to win the EPL is down to many factors over the years. most significantly is Rafa famous team rotation policy and lack of depth in the squad

Liverpool mounted a serious challenge last season because that was the first time rafa got his team tactics and selection together and kept the key players fit

This season woeful performance can be attributed to Alonso's loss (aquinlani have and can never efficiently replace alonso), and also key players inability to rise to the occasion. Gerrard, Torres and Caragher have all played below par.
