Acting President Goodluck Jonathan, Theophilus Danjuma and Company Plc

The fact that Lt.Gen. Theophilus Danjuma (rtd)GCON, FSS psc, is Chairman of the Presidential Advisory Committee of “Acting” President Goodluck Jonathan is enough proof of the bad judgment of the Vice President of Nigeria.

Vice President Goodluck Jonathan is simply name-dropping. The emergency committee is made up of strange bedfellows. Corrupt retired generals and their partners in crime would have been indicted and convicted in America and executed in China for their ill-gotten wealth, but in Nigeria, they are rewarded and promoted. Moreover, lest we forget Mrs. Patience Goodluck Jonathan, the "First Lady" in waiting has a case with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for money laundering. Would that be swept under the carpet?

How legal is the $500m, Lt.Gen. Theophilus Danjuma (rtd made as his profit from the total of $1bn for selling an oil block, which was allocated to him 12 years ago by the corrupt military junta of late Gen. Sani Abacha?

What is destroying Nigeria is not the so-called kitchen cabinet of the First Lady of Nigeria, Hajia Turai Yar’Adua, but the political hydra of the ruling party of Nigeria, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), and the "Acting President" Goodluck Jonathan is part of this notorious monstrosity.

Let us say the truth and call a spade a spade.

Nonsense talk!!

Why is it a crime in your books for a Nigerian to own an oil block??
Shell, Chevron, and all sorts of oil companies have numerous oil blocks.
They drill the oil and send 40% per cent of the proceeds to their own countries which is then used to build their infrastructures, pay dividends to their investors, give loans to their citizens etc.

T.Y Danjuma is not like the average General. He has always been an astute business man. Oil is not his only source of income. He sits on the board of numerous blue chip companies. He is a professional and a very well respected one at that.
His presence in the Advisory committee would provide guidance in areas like defense and security. There is no person more suitable than T.Y.

The pedigree of members of the Advisory council is without question extremely excellent. A list where you have the likes of Fola Adeola, Maryam Uwais, Emeka Anyaoku, Barth Nnaji, M.D Yusuf, Kaase Lawal, Basil Omiyi- these are folks that have excelled beyond their peers!

The selection of these fellows speaks volumes about Jonathan. The man has a knack for excellence!!

Most of Nigeria's oil revenues stay in Nigeria. This is a rather pathetic attempt to defend looting by Nigerian leaders.

I agree with you strongly. This selection is in the right track.
TY Danjuma is respected General and People should not just condemn him for owning an oil well. He is Nigerian and he is entitled to that as long as he can afford it.

This post makes no sense wat does d wife of Jonathan havin a case wit EFCC has to do wit d advisory comite. Holier than thou attitude will not help dis country and always critising actions of our leaders does us no good. Anytime our leaders say or do somtin d only way it is shown dat we are informed is to start analysing how it wld fail, do we stil rememba wen d amnesty prog was launched by Mr President, TELL magazine came up wit d headline "Why d Amnesty Deal wil Fail" but today thanks b 2 God its stil on course.
For those of u who can't c d writing of Goodluck, he has just set up credible people who should work on ensuring that he gets d presidency in 2011 don't 4get he set up a comitte to look into all federal projects reports gotten frm dis investigation wil b used to put dose against his presidency in check, just let's kip watchin as events unfold

Shaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrraaaaaaaaaaap!!!

Imagine a Niger-Deltan defending Danjuma all in the name of defending a crook like Jonathan.

It is thinking like this that makes people like you defend the Ibrus et al, just because they are Niger-Deltans.

Danjuma is a thief and mass murderer.

The oil-bloc he sold belongs to a community whose lands were seized illegaly by the Government and dashed to him under the inhumane Land Use Act.

Hehehe! Ibime!
Danjuma is a thief because he sold his oil block for a grand prize abi??
How about Adenuga?? He's gat an oil block too? How come in our books he is an astute business man?

But seriously, while I agree that the oil communities should be the largest beneficiaries of the proceeds from the crude, someone has to drill that oil. If it is Danjuma, E.k Clark, Shell or whoever thats gets to drill it, that person has the right to sell the bloc when he feels like and get freaking wealthy from the sale.
Thats just what Danjuma did and we shouldn't call him thief for just been a shroud business man.
Its FOCs AND THE FG that I have a bigger problem with.

IMO, no Niger-Deltan should ever justify the forced requisition of our land by Government and subsequent sale to any single person. . . not even Lulu Briggs!

Danjuma is a weasel of the highest order. . . from the murder of Ironsi to his co-conspiracy in the 1966 pogroms, his war crimes in the civil war, his overseeing (as Minister of Defence) of the mass murder of the people of Odi and Zaki Biam. . .and his subsequent protection of the murderers. . . infact, any Niger Deltan defending this criminal called Danjuma needs a reality check.

I supported Jonathan because it was constitutional for him to take over. . . but I cannot speak for his decency. . . he is a crook and a political survivalist just like the rest of them. . . . Jonathans nickname amongst his own people is "Federal Houseboy".
