UNDERWATER WATERFALL

The underwater waterfall is an amazing yet scary to look at illusion, created on an island of the Republic of Mauritius. It is a breathtaking sight and looks like a fairyland. It is created because local sand and silt deposits flow around the area and fluctuate the color of the water, making it appear like a waterfall heading to nowhere. Though an illusion, it looks real even from satellite pictures.

GLOWING WAVES

Ever paid a visit to the bioluminescent beach of the Maldives. The waves glow at night, looking like some fairyland. The creatures underwater which created the color were mistaken to be plankton but they are actually ostracod crustaceans”. The ostracods emit light for a larger period than the plankton. Do pay a visit and soothe your eyes.

THE BLUE TIDE SHOW

Well, though unpredictable, but the San Diego blue tide show is worth a watch. It is said that the reason behind it is an organism, a phytoplankton called Lingulodinium polyhedron, turning the waves into electric blue color. So, take a beautiful corner on the beach and pray that you witness the sight.

THE RED CRAB MIGRATION

This one is worth a watch sight at Christmas Island, a nice beach getaway near Australia and Indonesia. Millions of red crabs migrate every year in the months of October and November after laying their eggs in the sea. It is one of the very famous tourist destinations.

VOLCANIC LIGHTNING

The volcanic island in Iceland is something dramatic. It is caused by the interaction of charged particles present in the ash cloud and the bottom of normal clouds. The sight is dramatic and breathtaking.

TIMELAPSE CALBUCO CHILE

A breathtaking and awestruck video of a volcano in Chile in 2015 was viral. The volcano emitted an ash plume that rose to an estimated 33,000 feet (10 kilometers) hot, dense clouds of material that blasted out of a crater at high speeds and lava flows have been observed at the top of the volcano.

GATEWAY TO HELL

The Desert Karakum of Turkmenistan has a crater of fire which is the size of that a football field. It has been burning for the past fifty years. It is also known as “Darwaza Gas Crater”. Imagine going and falling in it.

BLUE LAVA

Indonesia’s Kawah Ijen volcano is one of the wonders which appears to spew eerie blue lava. It is all because of the combustion of sulfur rich gases. Eruptions at Kawah Ijen include unusually high quantities of sulfuric gas pressured and heated to a temperature occasionally in excess of 600 degrees C. As the gases are exposed to oxygen in the air, the lava ignites them into brilliant blue flames.

THE FIRE FALL

Yosemite National Park in California is something that offers one of the most amazing fire fall sights. It actually not fires falling but the sunlight on the Horsetail fall that creates the illusion. Around the second week of February, the setting sun hits Horsetail Fall at just the right angle to illuminate the upper reaches of the waterfall. And when conditions are perfect, Horsetail Fall glows orange and red at sunset.

UNDERWATER HOLE

Near the center of Lighthouse Reef, lies an underwater hole, a small atoll 100 kilometers from the mainland and Belize City. The hole is perfectly circular in shape. Hold your breath when you see it, you’ll be mesmerized than ever.
