Hurray Nigeria is 57 a big happy birthday to this great nation, Nigeria is a country in west Africa, Nigeria is a pulsating powerhouse: as the most populous nation on the continent nearly every fifth African is Nigerian it dominates the region. well looking back at time you could say Nigeria has achieved a lot in a short period of time Nigeria's population as at now is estimated to be 200 million imagine 200 million people of different clan, ethnicity, religion, and culture holding on for this long, its really a great achievement oh is it in education or sports or is it the economy or is it entertainment industry or is it individual accomplishments both home and away in fact I could write a whole book of this great country's achievements and various levels of accomplishments, considering the great amount of what I'd like to call storms that this country has been through and still going through I'd like to commend its pride that its still holds as the unrivaled giant of Africa yes there have been challenges such aw terrorism, corruption. Illiteracy, poverty, religious scribble, and the latest 'recession' putting in mind also the 'Igbos' and many more every nation of the world has its own fair share of 'storms' and Nigeria as a nation has had its own 'storms' I'd like point out that independence day is not just the celebration of the country's birth but the citizens as a whole the main purpose of this article is to celebrate Nigeria and encourage Nigerians to always see and think the best of this nation, and before you can truly wish the best for a thing you must first love it, how much do we love this country? How much are you willing to sacrifice? We must have it in mind that the change we want, is the change we must show in all sincerity and honesty, we must realize that we are Nigerians before we are hausa we are Nigerians before we are Igbo's and Yoruba, we must first be conscious in our hearths of the nations need even before ours that's true patriotism, let's put aside religious differences. political views, selfish interest and let's come together as one in this day of independence let our minds be reborn in love towards one another let us share love and not shed Blood...happy birthday NIGERIA
thank you .
