[sub]Bayelsa State, Nigeria is currently witnessing the outbreak of a deadly disease called Monkeypox. Reports show that a medical and ten others have already contracted the disease and they are currently being quarantined at the Niger Delta University Teaching Hospital.


The State Commissioner for Health described monkey pox as a viral disease caused by a group of viruses that include chicken pox and small pox, adding that the first case was noticed in the Democratic Republic of Congo and subsequently had outbreaks in West Africa./sub]
