The peculiar attitude of Cassidy is that he was very condescending when it has to do with domestic orientation and with this attitude he is loved by all. But this he was never aware, until he was instructed to teach people without any guidance and not without commendation. Cassidy love baking and cooking and although Jacobo, as a friend of his, was not all that too interested as a result of his instability and flexibility in domestic issues, hence, he could not learn how to make cake. And was not often disposed toward anything with domestic bearing like Cassidy. During the holiday, Jessica with her Mommy came around to use her holiday to learn how to make cake and the one who was to teach her was Cassidy. But before then, they have always come around to order for cake whenever any birthday in the family is comes up.And Cassidy did manage to have an unusual interest in both reading and baking simultaneously[b][/b]. He actually learn to do this from when the school was functional and when he has to do any exam, just to keep up with time without any excuse.
Because, after missing his cake he would continue with his novel from where he stops, hence, he eventually develops the habit of reading and baking. And this have seems to be a part of him ever since. And overtime, has come to develop the very act in the structured and articulated timetable to getting the work done whenever there is need to bake. This time around could not be different with a well planned timetable with Jessica. And when Jessica came, she discovered that Cassidy was so interested in reading novels to such an extent that even though, he is busy mixing the cake, he still manage to held his novel in his armpit, just to take up the line of reading from where he left it. And he does this so perfectly that, it helps him to finish any one novel he engages himself to read.
It was this attitude of his that tends fascinate her so much about Cassidy, but without saying it openly. Rather she engages herself to make so many advances in her interest in Cassidy but for him it was just a distraction that tends to infringe into his timetable of work, hence, he was adamant. And yet everyday he was always expecting to see Jessica, of which when she fails to show up, it was as if something mysterious has happen to him, without his consent and in what looks like a void , he would lose his appetite, not only to concentrate but even to want to read. But whenever they show up, he manages to observe that he becomes very different and not without excitement, mentally and physically. Although, as an introvert of what he is, he never came out openly, but often, mutedly to say anything of his affection and love for her.
Often, Jessica, would immersed herself in questioning him, as she expect a response, but to her dismay the answer was always not forthcoming and without even, extending the discuss as Jessica would have appreciate to have it just to show her he was also interested in her.. As it often plays out after a few weeks, she come to the understanding that Cassidy was probably inexperience or has something to hide or just been timid. Then she comes on him very bluntly that in a weeks’ time she will be going to England to remain there until she finish her studies. Reluctantly, Cassidy made her to understand he may probably want to get a scholarship to go out too. But to where exactly this place would be, this he could not imagine for now, but it was obvious and Jessica saw it, at that moment that he was interested in her, except that he was the timid type of individual. Even though, he never come to recognized himself in that light but he knew that was the case. At one point in time, Jacobo came in from one of his unusual outing, as he came with the information that it may be wise to applied for a scholarship he read about in one of the daily paper a couple of hours ago. As it were, Jacobo is a long time friend of Cassidy, who have just arrived from school. He would have finished at the same time with Cassidy, but due to their indefinite strike that have almost taken a whole section, Cassidy then, still have one year to go, but for his friend, he needed to get himself into the job market to settle. And this becomes one of the reasons; he actually opts to stay with Cassidy, just to enable him to lay hand on daily papers. Because, in the family, they often get about three to four of the daily papers, of which Jacobo is well aware could facilitate any information for any job hurting.
Then Cassidy asked for the paper for him to have a glance through, so as to ascertain the veracity and can access very closely, if it really worth applying for, so that they could both apply for it. Nevertheless, Cassidy was very skeptical about the whole issue of applying, due in part because he was yet to round up with just only one year from now. And secondly, on the part of Jacobo, without the involvement of Cassidy, it might be difficult without seeing the light of the day due to so many logistics and connections involved. But Jacabo knew it that at this point in time Cassidy is much favored in whatever it takes to get it. And it was as if Cassidy was already having an insight when he told Jessica of the possibility of getting a scholarship to travel a few days ago. The moment, Cassidy read through, he was excited and saw immediately the possibility of getting through and reported the matter to Granny who tends to shear his vision every time he come up with one like this . Granny reminded Cassidy of one Madam Teddy, who is a very good friend of the family, who could be of great help in that direction, because it seems she was actually in charge of the very office of issuing the scholarship papers. With this information, both Jacobo and Cassidy were very sure they have already got it without question due to this unique connection through Cassidy.
