You don't have enough universities, let alone world class ones and you are asking if it must be in Nigeria.
Even Ghana have more universities per capital than Nigeria and better ones too.
You people are so deluded- from the government to the citizens.
Convenant university and the second one they are currently constructing in Nigeria are they not world class? If they build another one in Nigeria would it channge ur level of hypocrisy towards the church? wen did winners chapel start being responsible for giving ur country wat the government cannot give them? Moreover didn't u also read that its the branch in ghana that is championing the project.
Just swerve abeg, always trying to find fault in wat others do wen u urself have nothing to offer

Oyedepo is a business man .
bla bla bla bla bla bla bla
So Nigerians cannot help other countries develop abi? but u open ur hands to receive intervention funds from other countries who also have poor and helpless citizens.
And wen did Bishop Oyedepo become ur federal government? or was he the one u went to vote in 2015? By the way why dont u go and hold the people u pay ur taxes to or better still build ur university and stop being a pest wen u know u have nothing to offer

This would be the fifth University of the Living Faith Church and the first foreign University of the commission. The Establishment would be followed by another University in Congo DRC and Kenya.

The third University of the commission under request of NUC is currently under construction in Abuja. The church had earlier received a request from NUC to build a World class University in the Nation's capital and budget for constructing the Abuja University would exceed that of Covenant and Landmark put together.

The now fmr President of Gamia, Jammeh had also requested for a University to be built in the Gambia. There is however no indication the Church would honor that request yet.

The fourth University(Crown University) is also currently under construction in Tinapa, Cross river and would focus on Ship Building, Naval Architecture and Marine Studies....
Construction of both the Cross river and Abuja University commenced in April 2017 though funds had been fully available for both since 2011 and is expected not to exceed the normal 12 month construction cycle of the Church.
All to the Glory of God!
university for the wealthy. Only for children of politicians and all the rich people in Ghana + the few rich ones in the church. All the piir whose monies are used to build the school will not see the gate of the school let alone get admission for their children.

You are dumb. Who is talking about church here. ?
So 2 world class universities is enough for a nation of 180 million and climbing?
Are countries like south Africa, morocco, USA, Germany, UK, e.t.c. with many world universities for a population they don't have, foolish?
Please tell me, what exactly is the university going to serve in Ghana that Nigeria does not have a greater need for? Are there more students in Ghana, or more paying members or more tertiary educational need in ghana than in Nigeria?
Will it kill you, if Nigeria has 10 world class universities with foreign students pouring in? Is it something uncommon or unheard of?

Yes indeed it may and that could affect the internationalisation rank of CU on Times Higher. But hopefully as CU continues to rise on rankings to at least top 400 in d next 2 or 3 years then more foreigners who are not LFC members would begin to seek admissions there regardless of the competition between LFC universities.
Frankly I am also worried about Landmark. A living faith university in Abuja may dry out her supply for students if Care isn't taken. The trick for Landmark would be to concentrate all Undergraduate scholarship of David Oyedepo foundation on Landmark only. Then Concentrate 60% of all scholarship fund for PG studies to Covenant university.

But in all I believe Covenant has carved out its own name and brand and would forever be sought after. If the Church is faithful to her commitment to Covenant as her Flagship university then Covenant may in fact be more internationally popular than Living faith itself in a few years..

Yeah you are right; Covenant has already made a name for herself, and the rankings will do more good.

Please what name have they made?
What ingenuity have they produced that will be said to be in public use or in global demand?.
I am not talking about being the one eyed man in the land of the blind.
Can you even compare the university to top notch schools in Egypt, SA, and morocco with an outstanding body of academic achievements bordering on numerous nobel prize winnings, global ingenuity in designs and concepts, and many other areas.
The university have not even gone anywhere and yet we can't rest from all the empty bragging.
Who in their right mind will choose covenant over capetown university or the American university in Egypt?

Has any convent university staff or student been nominated for a nobel prize, let alone even winning?
What name have they made na, because this is the barest minimum for a world class university.

Winners Chapel International has pledged to establish a university in Ghana to cater for the educational advancement of the youth of the nation.

According to the National Pastor, James Muyiwa, the educational institution will be a world class university.

Addressing thousands of members of the church Winners Chapel home coming ceremony over the weekend, Pastor Muyiwa said the church is ready to give back to the society.

“Very shortly, we shall be unveiling to the members of the public the world class university which the ministry intends to build in Ghana to cater for the educational advancement of the youth of the nation. Our ministry is people friendly as it was founded on the platform of a God driven vision to help people and specifically to liberate the whole world from all the oppressions of the devil through the preaching of the Word of Faith.”

“Wherever this ministry is found, we have always been a blessing to that Community. Apart from preaching the message of faith with diverse testimonies of healings, deliverances and breakthroughs in the lives of the people, we teach other practical aspects of life which have always been a great blessing to the people involved.”

Pastor Muwuyi added that God has seen the church through all the hard times since its establishment in Ghana.

“God has been exceptionally good to us in this commission and especially in this country. It is therefore our bounden duty to appreciate Him and acknowledge Him for making our case truly different in all aspects of life”.

Covenant is the second best private University in Africa just below American University of Cairo(webometrics). As per research how many research work have you ever read. Currently Covenant has a 2 billion grant from NIH, USA to develop an evolution proof insecticide whose project is going extremely fine at the moment.

lol you are wrong, that is a 'maximum' attribute of world class universities. WCU are universities that are top 250 in the world and as at now not all of them have Nobel affiliations. Covenant isn't top 200 but it is rated an Elite university by Times.

Cool down bro. I just compared CU to other upcoming Nigerian universities. By the way, CU has made a name for herself in the league of Nigerian universities. BTW, CU has achieved a rare feet of being worthy to be assessed by the THE in the last ranking in just 15yrs of their existence.

as u keep building please build free schools for the poor. That's what Jesus tasked believers to do. Matt 25. Don't collect offerings and tithes and invest in private business. It is sin. Nigerian Christians are mammon worshippers. Change and serve the living God.

So you are even taking our money out of the country to invest in another man's land!!! just like politicians, you are improving the economy of another country with the wealth of innocent Nigerians.

Now to the useless CAN and the stupid followers

When Muslim/Islam brings something that will improve our living in Nigeria(Sukook, Non interest banking etc), you will be shouting Islamisation like donkey, this is your hard labor money your leaders are taking out of the coutry.

If you are CAN follower and you think Islam/Muslims are still your enemy, you are stupid
