Donald Trump has been sentenced to death by the North Korean people for calling Kim Jong-un “short and fat”, according to the country’s state newspaper.

The US president ‘hurt the dignity of the supreme leadership’ when he criticised Kim Jong-un’s regime during a visit to South Korea, and for that he should be killed, newspaper Rodong Sinmun said.

“The worst crime for which he can never be pardoned is that he dared [to] malignantly hurt the dignity of the supreme leadership,” the ruling party newspaper Rodong Sinmun wrote.

The article also accused Trump of cancelling a visit to the border because he was ‘too scared to face the glaring eyes of our troops’.

According to The White House, the trip was called off due to inclement weather.

Since becoming president, Donald Trump has engaged in an escalating war of words with Kim Jong-un, trading personal insults and threats of military strikes and raising concerns about an outbreak of hostilities.

As his tour of Asia came to a close, he posted on Twitter: "Why would Kim Jong-Un insult me by calling me 'old,' when I would NEVER call him 'short and fat'?"



During his tour of Asia, Trump has attempted to unite the continent’s powers against Kim in a bid to end the isolated nation’s nuclear weapons programme.

According to Independent; the state newspaper, which is seen as a mouthpiece for the government, has regularly been used to attack Mr Trump in aggressive terms. This year, it has called him a "rabid dog", a "psychopath" and suggested that it could "reduce the US mainland to ashes any moment".
