The Kwara State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Lawan Ado, on Friday announced that vehicular movements during the local government elections on Saturday would be restricted.

While urging voters to discharge their civic duties peacefully, Ado said that adequate police officers had been deployed in the state to ensure a violence-free exercise.

Speaking separately, governor of the state, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed, called on residents of Kwara, who are eligible to vote, to come out in large numbers to support their candidates, adding that security agencies would be available to ensure their safety.

Political parties fielding candidates in the contest also called for a peaceful exercise, urging voters across the state to perform their civic responsibility.
