Nigerians are our own worst enemies!

we have a penchant of losing all sense of objectivity & reason in an attempt to shift goalposts on sociopolitical issues.

why do some people castigate an alleged offence committed by one person but praise/defend the same offence committed by another?

if that isn't hypocrisy, then we might as well jettison the dictionary & exist in a state of Hobbesian nature where anything goes.

my opinion stems from the recent finger pointing of Tinubu when he calls Deziani corrupt.

it is not calling Deziani corrupt that is the crux of the matter, she does have questions to answer regardless of whatever witch hunting colourings is painted on the matter, it is those who actually support BAT's assertion while pouring venom on Deziani & giving excuses for BAT's stupendous wealth...

they posit that BAT worked for Mobil & was a senator (for less than 18 months) in the early 90s & Govenor of Lagos for 8 years... they say this as if to justify or provide reason for BAT's present wealth...

but I argue that if the above offices occupied by BAT provide justification for his wealth, why do his supporters then take umbrage with Deziani?

she was an Executive Director with Shell, married to a former CNS & military governor of two states & a minister for over 6 years...

it therefore stands to reason that if BAT's wealth can be justified by positions held, same should go for Deziani.

but if we are honest with ourselves, Nigerians know that both personalities have wealth beyond what can be reasonably justified...

both have in their various political capacities, shortchanged Nigerians.

both are in the class of leaders who care for only their personal advancement regardless of the pains on the masses...

it is just like those who castigate GEJ for saying stealing is not corruption but pretend as if they did not hear pmb say Abacha never looted Nigeria... both statements, without clarifications, are grating to the ears of sane people.

the bottom line is this:

the earlier the Nigerian people, the masses, come together to classify these people as what they truly are, which is 'Locusts of Nigeria, Nigerians will continue to be mired in the slum that is poverty, ethnic bickering, stagnation & poor leadership...

what is bad is bad, do not provide justification for evil...

Lack of a sound mind is the problem. The heterogeneity is evident everywhere and the symbols of tribal superiority engraved in our system. I'm not against the preservation of tribe but the definition of identity. What the hell are we?
