There was unrest in Kano State, when over 1,000 pensioners under the aegis of All Federal Pensioners in the State on Thursday protested the death of 300 of their colleagues as a result of non-payment of their 33 per cent pension arrears for 42 months.

In a statement by its spokesperson, Malam Muhammad Isa, the group said the victims included retired workers from BUK; Federal College of Education, Kano; Dala Orthopaedic Hospital; Federal College of Education, Bichi; Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, and Nigeria Television Authority, Kano.
