Lionel Messi Currently Enduring His Worst Run In Front Of Goal For Seven Years by Sport4all(m): 4:38pm On Nov 27, 2017
LIONEL MESSI has every right to feel frustrated as he tucked himself into bed on Sunday night.
As Barcelona travelled to Valencia for Sunday's massive, top of the table showdown with Valencia, they knew a win would be huge for their La Liga title hopes.
Lionel Messi was left furious after having a perfectly-good goal ruled out
However, they stumbled to a 1-1 draw as Jordi Alba left it late to cancel out Rodrigo's opener for the hosts.
But before any of that came the game's most controversial moment, as Messi saw his goal chalked-off.
A shot from the Argentine star somehow managed to squirm beyond the grasp of Valencia stopper Neto before creeping well over the line.
Incredibly though, the officials waved it off, much to the fury of Messi... and Barcelona. It was a double-blow for Messi, though - who is now in the midst of his worst scoring run in seven years.
The Argentine ace is now without a goal in six games in all competitions, spanning 538 minutes, following his blistering start to the 2017-18 campaign. In fact, Messi's last goal came on October 28, nearly a month ago to the day, when Barcelona beat Athletic Bilbao 2-0.
Since then, the superstar forward has drawn a blank in games against Olympiakos, Sevilla, Leganes, Juventus and Valencia - as well as against Russia while away on international duty. Despite his lean November, Messi has still enjoyed a phenomenal 2017-18 season thus far.
He sits atop the La Liga scoring charts, with 12 goals in 13 games - three strikes of second-placed Simone Zaza.
Villarreal's Cedric Bakambu has also scored nine times, while Zaza's Valencia team-mate Rodrigo has found the net eight times this term.
