It came into mainstream news based on a demand notice that Kaduna State charges N10,000 per month as "ROYALTIES" on boreholes. The Governor claims that this arrangement is for commercial establishments. The fact that water is a public utility that should be provided by the state failing which most people have to sink their own boreholes appears lost on the Governor. 1 Like

The banks and hotels sink their own borehole and pay kaduna for it that's funny. What would they pay if you actually provided the water directly to them. 10k isn't much but the principle matters. 2 Likes |

When government cannot provide a basic need of its citizens such as water and the people resort to self help by setting up boreholes with their hard earned money, the midget governor is charging them for doing his job. Rubbish!... The foolish man is obviously setting a bad precedence and very soon other state governors will follow. 2 Likes |
