Hi all and greetings from Zagreb, Croatia. I just googled Nigerian forums to see what you guys think about the draw. Nigeria today is a complete mistery for me. I do remember Nigeria in the 90's and I loved your legendary and football romantic team with Okocha, Babayaro, Kanu, Babangida and the others. You were one of my favorite teams to pick on PES in those days. I don't know many of the new players, but even though they say your are not that team of big names anymore, be sure we are not underestimating Nigeria, and I think we have been handled a very though but also interesting group.

Thing is we still hold a grudge against Iceland, they are football dwarfs in our eyes, and have been so in everyone's eyes until last Euro when they played very exciting and interesting counter attack football. We played them 5 times in history, won 4 and lost 1. But that last loss was in the 90th minute in a game we dominated, and almost cost us the world cup. We want to revenge against them same as Argentina might be wanting to show you who is the boss.

Thats why I think our group may be the most interesting, we got two favorites that lost against the other two teams, and naturally want revenge. Then on the other side, we got two teams that very recently won against those favorites, and showed themselves and everyone it can be done.

Anyway I wish you all the best, and may the best team win. Meaning Croatia ofc

People are just shouting that Portugal would have it easy against Iran. We forget that football is becoming increasingly hard to predict. In 2014, it took a late goal from Messi to unlock a resolute Iranian defense. Everyone thought that Argentina would dismantle Iran but it ended 1 - 0.

Who would have ever thought that Denmark would dismantle us in France 98 or that we would dismantle Bulgaria in USA 94?

In South Korea/Japan 2002, everyone thought that Argentina was one of the favorites to win the cup but they didn't even proceed out of the Group Stage. In the same competition, Senegal beat defending champions, France.

In 2014, Ghana almost beat Germany but Klose rescued Germany.

In summary, football is no longer by name. Sometimes, and it is becoming frequent, upsets are being recorded in football. Anyone can make a go at the World Cup. Iceland may have been strong at the Euros but may end up flopping on the bigger stage. This can also happen to Argentina like it happened to them in 2002.

Dear Nairalanders, let's correct this error once and for all. You cannot WIN Iceland. No, that is impossible in the English language. You can only BEAT Iceland and to do this you have to WIN the football match against them.
