My friends please, the kyuubi is strong alright but remember he was taken down by Yondaime-sama (the fourth) using the forbbiden justu, the god of the Death. As far as Uchiha Madara, we know hes capable of achiving the powers of the deamons inside Narut, Gaara and many others like them. Internet sources have reavled that Madara created goodof moon justsu and Kaleydoscoupe Sharingan. Indeed the episodes dont mentioned Madara and the kuuybi ever fighting but he does mention eyes more sinister than his. What does that tell you?! Its a facat now that hes more powerful tha Itachi and Orochimaru, although we dont know why he left Akatsuki we are certian Orochimaru searched for the Sharingan maybe to stand a chance against Madara's power.

well i did my research right , ok episode 81 confirms itachi is stronger than orochimaru, Episode 01 naruto shippuden confeses the kuuybi meeeting with this fellow. there are no sources of Madara not mandara ever fighting the first hokage, Manga 255 reveals someone using the Mangekyou Sharingan and referrers to needing more time to kill orochimaru, this guy (Madara) performs the Fuuin Justsu Genryuu Ryuu Fuujin (Illsuionary Dragon Complete seal of nine) a jutsu so powerful it need chakra form many of the akatsuki members and it gave Madara the soul of the shukaku leaving gaara death

thanks for outlining your sources albeit it does not really justify what you had initially wrote with regard to the identity and function/role of Madara in Naruto.

mandara's the founder of the uchiha clan, and he is rumoured to have summoned the kyubi to destroy konoha, probably as revenge,or to make the people accept him as a hero if he steps in to defeat the kyubi.

Actually Madara Uchiha is the Akatsuki leader and is also Tobi. Itachi explains this to Sasuke if you read the Manga chapter where Sasuke and Itachi face off. When Madara Uchiha was younger, him and his brother were fighting. They matched each other's moves and everything. They finally showed off their abilities but Madara reached the Mangekyou Sharingan without killing his best friend because he was the first Uchiha and first Sharingan user. (He was the son of the Tengu God and a Hyuuga. The offspring turned the Byakugan into something worst, the Sharingan.) You know how when you use the Mangekyou, you become blind in the end? Well Madara used it so much, he became blind, screaming let me out of this darkness. Once he got fed up with it, Madara reached to his brother to yank out his eyes and replace his own. Once this happened, Madara was able to use the Mangekyou Sharingan as often as he liked without the fear of going blind. Itachi is going blind, and wishes to steal Sasuke's eyes. Actually it was Ridoku sennin who founded the shinobi world as he was the father of basically all jutsu.sharingan and byakugan were probably derived from the rinne'gan.Madara and the first hokage were leaders of the two strongest clans:uchiha and the senju.The senju have a way of neutralizing the sharingan(not yet revealed) and madara was an admirer of the first.the two formed a pact and then created the leaf village.and it is true that the sharingan has the ability to control the bijuu's and it was madara who summoned the nine tails to destroy konoha before the fourth gave his life to save it.
